Fair enough, maybe it's my high expectations of Oatesy... I like the guy but he didn't really get involved

Yeah he seemed to be used sparingly. I’m pretty take it or leave it with Corey - wouldn’t miss him but wouldn’t be mad if he plays

Niu was meant to play centre in 2021, trained there all off season for it and yet, didn’t dislodge Farnworth.

Indeed, Niu got his 2021 chance in first grade the week Herbie was supposed to start at fullback, but there was an injury during warmup and Walters had no faith Niu could play in the centres, so put him at 1 instead.

Not really a glowing endorsement of Niu.

EDIT: ignore me, I’m way wrong 😑🤦‍♂️
Yea I agree he isn't a centre he was dropped out due to his performance at centre. But it was Nui defence that was horrible. He has to play Fullback in this side or not at all.

Pretty accurate. I think you’re being a bit harsh on Oates. I don’t remember him doing anything wrong, he just kinda didn’t do anything. He was playing centre which was weird within itself and they go no ball down that side.

Jensen was pretty good but he seemed to end up on his back a lot.

I thought Palasia was decent too. Nothing great nothing too bad.

I think people are being really harsh on Oatesy. Cant show much if the ball doesnt come your way.

Got about 10 minutes of game time out of position. As someone else hilariously pointed out - we finally see a cut out ball to the left winger and poor Oatsey was the one who go cut out

Out of position and he wasn't even named to play til last minute right?
He was probably only there to fill the numbers and put his hand up to play if Kevvie was expecting him play his heart out and to play to trial for a spot he would of been named to begin with and in his regular position.
I think everyone's quick to forget how to team turned around last year when Oates came in.

Please don't say everyone, it's such a silly thing to include every person on earth in a statement unless it's something like everyone needs oxygen.

Nakubuwai only did that on a week training and game too- Smith got him a week at Broncos and a game last week.

He got a run last year too but got injured and couldn't finish his trial.
I rate him. Watch Melbourne snap him up and put him into their system.

They're going to need the next wave given the exodus

But its not fucken reality what’s the point of giving shit to our best fucken fullback. Not going to fix the problem you fucken clown. He is 20 years old and you expect him to be fucken James Tedesco or perfect. As you fucken said he was rocks and Diamonds. It was at the end of the season he was the Diamonds was it not so shut the **** up and be positive and happy for once that our team is in a relatively good place. But no you all have to be fucken negative about him before he even gets a chance to prove himself. You lot did the same thing with Carrigan, very quick to forget the good things they have done and continue to do for this club. I love how every other player gets the development card yet Niu is one of the few players out there giving a good account for themselves even though he has had very little especially in the fullback spot. Yes eventually Cobbo will be fullback but the reality is he is not right now so stop fucken complaining about not having a top notch fullback and be grateful that we have a good enough fullback to continue to improve and assist us in to the finals as all of you predict. Alongside Gamble, Cobbo and Haas he was instrumental to last seasons turn around. So **** right off cause someone called you out for being an absolute **** about a player who put the hard yards in and improved yet you still want to judge him from before.

If they lose kamika, I think they could very well look at him as an option as they are quite similar in their style of play and where kamika was when they signed him.

He's such a Melbourne type of player. Same with Aimee (apologies for incorrect spelling)

You had me at fucken

Think the club should look at the 8 for Wynnum that played in the second half, looks like a rocket tank or some shit. Looks like he could scatter some defenders.

Ezra showed his passing game too, he's got it all.

Was that Rockley? Iirc he was a broncos u20

Now I have had my fucken rant. What about Ezra. I feel like we are just waiting for the end of the year to pretend like he will be any more ready than he already is. Why not put him in and give him and Reynolds 3 years to have a genuine crack at a premiership whilst 1,9 fall into place.
