Interesting that neither Gamble or Kelly have been named, so IMO that shows that they are the front runners.

they'll probably eliminate 3 of the 4 halves names from the round 1 running after this match.

I also leaning towards thinking that Billy will pick up the utility spot ... not because he is better than Paix, in fact quite the opposite. They seem to rate Paix highly enough that Turps needs to look over his shoulder, so IMO they'll keep him in the ISC playing big minutes (rather than 10 mins off the bench in the NRL) ... of course that is if he doesn't beat Turps for the round 1 starting 9

Well @Fitzy, I hate to say I told you so ... actually, wait a second, no I don't.

but as I predicted Reynolds isn't playing this trial game.
Can’t always be right but I actually said Reynolds will be playing unless Roberts or Martin play 7 cause there is no point playing a 6 competitor at halfback if they are playing 6. Which I was right about. I was just pretty confident they wouldn’t waste there time giving Roberts a game when we have 4 trillion halves. Also thought it might have been good for him to build combinations. But what can you do.

Kelly's playing for the indigenous

I was thinking the same re: what this means for Round 1. Might be bad news for Pereira, Lee etc too.

Kelly is playing All Stars but yes.

I like that kevie has paired ezra with Roberts, as I think Roberts is that dominant organiser similar to Reynolds so it is good practice and allows him just to play his natural game. Having paix at 9 and isaako at 1 will also add some familiarity to his role.

Really looking forward to seeing with the off season has done for Paix, he looked ready back end of last year.

A few interesting points -

It looks like Isaako will play all 80 at FB - can’t really see anybody who can cover that position? Maybe TMM?

Maybe - Walters and TMM to play second half in the halves?

Who gives Paix a spell?

Must admit theres a couple of names there I’m not sure of.

Roberts could move to fullback, has played a bit there in the NRL. but i think Isaako will stay there for the full 80. he could very well be out back up for the season proper
