Can we have a list of the players not named please?
Can anything be read into their omission?
Blokes lIke Reno, Hass etc are certainties but what does that mean for the rest?

I'm only guessing of course, but I'd wager anyone omitted is more likely to play Round 1 than not. We're only playing a Q Cup team this week and have named a Q Cup strength squad.

Week 2 usually features the majority of the first 17, plus anyone Kev might want/need a second look at. Week 3 will be more or less full strength.

That’s a strong squad- eight players from their Colts premiership.

Bolded are players most likely to play Round 1 (who aren't on rep duty).

Kev definitely playing it very safe. I hope this isn't an indication he doesn't have full faith in our conditioning and medical staff.

this really is a team that the vast majority of coaches would name in the first trial (when there a 3 trials scheduled)

doesn't really matter whether that coach is Bennett/Bellamy/Robinson or Anthony Seibold

I'm a fan of Lee and would like to see him at centre over Farnsworth. But he would need to light the trials on fire to knock Herbie off the mantel.
Mam starting over Walters is an interesting one for me. It may mean Mam's a bit ahead or could mean Walters more as utility position in the future 17. We're seen Gamble have plenty of time in broncos colours so I can see why he wouldn't be played as much.
The trials are to see what our players can do and I like how Walters is using them to do exactly this.

Ole Brenko could teach Herbie a trick or two about setting up wingers .
He throws some very nice passes for his outside men .

It's funny how some just dismiss a player because in truth, they've probably never taken the time to closely watch other games. When we found out he'd come on board there were quite a few saying he'd just be playing ISC, a backup for the backups so to speak but I thought he'd be a player to exert strong pressure on the first choices.

A proven first grader.
