OFFICIAL Bullemor hatches plot with other club and is gone

Outside of the tries he scored (where most of the work was done for him), he isn't all that people in here make him out to be
He's only played a few games.. And not many minutes in the games he has played..

Wait until he plays bigger minutes.. He'll only be better

Carrigan is not good at lock and Bullemore is more effective in the middle.
No no, that's just what everyone says here. Edge backrowers can take runs through the middle whenever they like.

Carrigan can start a game at lock and shift to prop whenever the coach decides.. Not a big deal. Could you explain to me why Carrigan "is not good at lock" ?

Curtis Sironen recently signed with a Super League club..

Could Bullemor play 80 mins on an edge like I tossed up that he could do for Broncos?

I would have reaaaally liked this next year

Not sure there's any point talking about him in our lineup anymore now that he's gone...

Manly have got Olakuatu (likely butchered that spelling) and Schuster on the edges at the moment, which worked brilliantly for them.

In the middle they basically only have Jurbo and Paseka... assuming they get rid of Tapau.

Aloia has been getting the starting spot at times, but barely been able to hold it down... and then outside of that they have Keppie, but he seems a bit of a liability.

I suspect Bull will be off the bench or starting prop for them. Can also cover 2nd row if needed to provide some variety.

Things may change when Foran retires with Schuster possibly moving to 6... but having a ball playing 2nd rower on the edge provides a lot of potential for teams (Des did love G Stewart on the edge). So Schuster may be a long term 2nd rower there.

You could be right but it is much too early to tell. But he often poked his nose through when running and he looked to be a bit hard to tackle with his "Anthony Watmough" type body shape. He could be like many and fades away quickly or he could forge out a decent career. He's hard to judge on because we have seen so little of him.

The reality is, Bullemor will likely go on to be a really, really good player and origin player as well and for Qld's sake, hopefully he does. However, we had too many young gun forwards and you could make an argument for any of them for or against and whoever left, we were always going to be disappointed but then for the sadness, look at the young forwards we still have.

Losing him sucks, I totally agree and think he could have been a huge point of difference for us but I love the kids we have retained and even someone like Carrigan, while maybe not as seemingly talented as Bullemor, is a necessary part in any side. Unfortunately, unless you are the Roosters, Panthers or Storm, you cannot have superstars in every position.

I think Guacamole OlamKatoa (think I got that right) could shift to the middle next year even though he's done very well on the edge. Who knows. I know I wouldn't want to go to a club to be a bench forward while Des Hasler is coach.. Maybe Taupau is on his way out and Bullemor will start at prop. We'll have to wait and see.

We have a heap of back row options, so we definitely didn't need Bullemore playing there when he is more effective in the middle.

He isn't great defensively and we would be much better served with Hetherington starting at lock as he actually able to attack with his defence.

Personally, I would have chosen Bullemor over Carrigan if I had to.

I think you might be forgetting how decent Carrigan was and also that he had similar wraps to Bullemor coming through, i.e the next Arrow/Parker. Carrigan is a workhorse prop, you need those in every team.

That said, I liked what I saw with Bullemor too but maybe we will get him back one day if he kicks on.

Nah, I haven't forgotten. I rate Carrigan's game, I just don't think he should be a priority. It reminds me of when we let a lot of good hookers go in order to keep Macca..

While that would have been great, you just can't hang on to them all and I think it's time we move on.

Because in the current game, a lock isn't a 3rd prop anymore. Carrigan has no ball playing skills, and he actually blunts the attack in the red zone. He is a prop, possibly a pretty good one.

I actually think it's up to the interpretation of the coach. The coach can decide what he wants to go with.

You could argue Dale Finucane is a prop, yet Bellamy has been using him at lock for years.

B Smith is now going to be their lock, but that's only because he's too good to leave out and Finucane is leaving next year. If they didn't have Grant, there'd be no doubt B Smith is their 9.

You can play 3 props to start a game strong, and then bring on a more agile and impactful lock from the bench whenever you like. Doesn't have to be so black and white.

I have spent a lot of time with him. He is like Carrigan he's the most conservative person in the world. You don't even need to check where he is or what he's doing- he's studying if he's not training like a crazy person.
That’s fine. Could easily be a lovely dude. But lovely dudes can also cause mayhem behind the scenes when $$$ is involved. Especially economists….!!!

We'll have to wait and see what he gets paid at his next club then..

I don't he caused much trouble at all..

That would be Payne Haas who is causing trouble.. The guy we want to lock up at the club for a decade..

Some players signed / re-signed ahead of Bullemor...

- Corey Jensen
- Brenko Lee
- Jordan Pereira
- Jesse Arthars
- David Mead
- Jake Turpin
