Cobbo: “I think he’s a nice guy but not a good coach”

How long does Kebbie have to prove he's more than just a good friend?

I’d say the content of what Cobbo said in the podcast is the main issue though. If he praised KW as a good coach and didn’t make any other outrageous remarks like leaving games early, do you think he’d still be punished for it being “unauthorised”?

if he had have done that the chances are we / the club still wouldn't have known about it.

the controversial nature of the comments are why it's seen the light of day.

This is true, but IF the club did know about it, would they still punish him?

News Corp don't really care about on field performance. they care about money. in that respect the club has been doing very well. (with the exception of having to pay out Seibold).

However, the negative coverage the club gets when going poorly on the field is like gold to News Corp. the Courier Mail's click go up causing their profits to go up (and that's what they really care about)
That sounds very counterintuitive. I would have thought a good on field performance would generate more money for them. Surely if a club is performing poorly on field their membership and merchandise revenue would suffer to say nothing of corporate box and sponsorship income.

If you are correct that means News Corp would rather trash the club than see it successful. Would have to be the only company in their organisation they want to fail rather than succeed.

Bit like the story running today that Brisbane will punish Cobbo because he's criticised Kev.

He's being punished because he broke his contract and did a media piece without the club's permission.....
Donuts specifically said he's being punished for what he said, so the paper correctly reported it:

"“I don’t want to punish him for eternity for it, but he needs to know what happened and what was said was totally unacceptable."
I sometimes find the readers don't correctly report what they've read. Not sure how that should be punished. Maybe get sent to bed early without their usual family pie and chips.

With Dolphins being so close, fans now have another choice, it will be important to have a good footy team as fans now have a realistic option.

I have never considered the Titans a realistic option, as they've never really been any good, they had a couple of years early on but ever since they've never threatened the top 4. Titans vs Broncos use to be a sell out every time, it probably still would be but it's nowhere near what it used to be, I remember when Locky bounced one in off both goalposts, we're a bit far removed from those sort of moments.

Because of teh clicks, man:

1. Lie
2. Teh clicks
3. ???
4. ???
5. Profit

Imagine the uproar if that happened, Billy playing for the team would be nothing :rofl
What? Cobbo should absolutely be punished for speaking about the head coach in the way that he did.

Just because he’s right doesn’t mean he should be saying it publicly

Should train on his own for a couple of weeks. 630am coffee + weights, then 830 start with the squad.

Sometimes reporters dont correctly report whats been said......

“He will be sanctioned for it because it’s a clear breach of club policy. We will deal with that internally and move on from this.”

🙃

...... the club still wouldn't have known about it.

and thats a worry TBH.
The podcast had been recorded before Christmas.......it had plenty of views and even though the knob doing the podcast was hopeless, he has a "series" running doesn't he?

If one of BHQ's cyber predators can find such things....surely a club like Brisbane would also have someone with an eye on the ball.....a finger on the pulse of the sports interwebs?

and if we did actually know about it.......we should have nipped it in the bud ourselves.

anyway........my opinion on Selwyn Cobbo has plummeted dramatically. I started smelling it last year when those reports about him being "too tired" to play started filtering in.
He's on notice in my book.

What is the "it" he will he be sanctioned for?
Hint: he outlines it in the previous sentence. It's also in the headline:

He may have a series going but man, he is so hard to listen to, I doubt he actually has many listeners. Maybe him and Selwyn just had a special understanding of each others' incoherent ramblings.

When the podcast was first brang to light here on the forum it had 200 views now it's got 7.5k. You could probably count with your fingers how many videos have over 500 views.
Not sure how Selwyn even got hooked up with this podcast but towards the end he even questions how long he's had it for and how many players have been on, so he knew nothing about this guy before it.

No need for any of "your" hints......

DD quite clearly states "it"........

".........it’s a clear breach of club policy."

Yep doesn't matter if you have played 30 Tests if you join the Storm you have to do it. Sims was doing Robbinson's house building.

Broncos did it with TPJ he went and worked in a nursery for a while but that was it.
I reckon the difference is, Storm making all the playing group do it where as we will only do it once the idiots we’ve turn themselves into dickheads. It’s a broken culture.
