CONFIRMED - Adam Blair to Broncos

The first thing i instantly notice is that his meters per run is way down on the others in that list and his missed tackles are way up.

secondly Matt Scott is the best prop in the game

Keep in mind he played at lock. Also I personally consider Matt Scott the best prop in the world, but I've heard people mention Bromwich as the best. Also he played less games due to injury, so just for comparisons sake I used Bromwich's stats instead.

Nice try, your stats are pretty much redundant either way dude.

> Longer playing time = more exhaustion = more errors / penalties / less MPR

It's not hard to come on and get 10 metres a run and not make many errors when you come on for 20 minutes a game in the back end of the first half when everyone is tired.

Kennedy's stats would be laughable if he played as many minutes as Blair did this year, even worse than what they were, guaranteed.
Your guarantees hold little value...
Kennedy always was a long minutes player, despite the way Griffin used him.

FTR, Kennedy's stats for the only two games he played 40 minutes or more last season:
- 50 minutes, 12 runs for 126 mtrs @10.5 mtrs per run. 30 tackles, 0 missed, 1 error, 0 penalties.
- 40 minutes, 9 runs for 83 mtrs @9.2 mtrs per run, 34 tackles, 3 missed, 0 errors, 1 penalty.

Blair's stats (which I know are not everything) don't hold up, even when playing less minutes, so please stop making shit up. This is the best game he had to offer last season comparatively:

- 52 minutes, 11 runs for 92 meters @ 8.3 mtrs per run, 24 tackles, 3 missed, 1 error, 0 penalties.

WB has his reasons, and no one here has ever implied to know more than him, but everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if it goes against the messiah's.
After all, that is what this forum is for, otherwise, we might just as well all silently nod in awe at everything Wayne does...

I'd prefer Hannant to Blair, but what ever frees up more money for Boyd......

I preferred Hannant as well, until I read about him going off and playing amateur rugby union during a bye without the club's permission. Doesn't matter how much he would have improved this year or if he'd stayed on a minimum wage, that type of unprofessional attitude isn't welcome.

Yes, 63 minutes for that kind of workrate is embarassing. I don't care what little things he does, it doesn't make up for it, not even close.

His defence is pretty good, especially when the rest of the tigers defence sucked. There middle third was shocking for the majority of the season, so plenty of missed tackles for the tigers as a whole. Considering that it's good. He just needs to get more carries, which hopefully he can do. In many instances his had less than 10 carries per match, in comparison there have been times where he's managed more than 15 runs in a match. If he can make a minimum of 15 runs per match, he'll be pretty good.

Blair was a spud when he was a West Tigers player but now the Broncos have signed him he is a world beater. People will believe what they want to believe no matter what.

Unless the whole team were scheduled for training that day, does it really matter?

I find it hilarious that someone can't even be slightly positive about a signing on here without everyone else saying that person thinks they're the greatest.

I find it hilarious that someone can't call it as they see it on this signing and everything else Bennett is doing.

In the three times he ran 15 times or more, his average meters were appalling: 7.2, 7.1 and... 5.6!

His best meter average was 9.75 from... 4 runs in 53 minutes! Thaiday anyone?

I'm sure everyone is positive about guys like Milford and Gavet. But you don't have to be positive about every signing, certianly not those who have been major duds for a while now, like Blair and Waddell and co.

Well one thing we know is that Bennett will have Blair in the starting side, which therefore means Parker and Thaiday can move back to their preferred position. Blair's addition certainly makes it a better side, considering our lack of front row options. Hopefully in a better team, Blair can also play better, given this year was his best season at the Tigers.

I don't really mind that Kennedy is gone. He didn't offer much considering his wage and more importantly the fact he never used his massive frame. Hannant on the other hand, I would of liked to have kept, but he got stuffed over by Griffin playing him off the bench. I think the move to the Cowboys was perhaps the best move for him though. He probably needed a change.

Our forward pack looks pretty good in my opinion:

8. McGuire
9. McCullough
10. Blair
11. Glenn
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Gillett
15. Garbutt
16. Gavet
17. Oates

Not similar to Thaiday at all though. :tape:

They can. And they do. Constantly. It's all that friggin' happens on here now.
And no one has repeated anything more than you have said this... give it a rest.

Don't like it? Skip to the next post!

Nobody is going around saying they love all the signings and they're perfect. People are looking for positives and having to cop smart ass responses constantly. It adds nothing. Nobody has said he's a world beater is my point.

I agree its not the best metre per run average, but it can improve since he won't be playing with a bunch of amateurs. The whole Tiger forward pack, including Woods struggled.

One thing I'd like to see is more energy and involvement. He's acknowledged that he wants to improve as a player, so there's every chance he can play better. He plays a lot better for the kiwis, so hopefully he can bring that sort of form to the Broncos on a weekly basis. Also it looks like a permanent switch to the front row for Blair, which might simplify his job further so that all he focuses on is running hard and defending hard.
