CONFIRMED - Adam Blair to Broncos

I am 23 years of age, wbu?
I wanted to give you an age discount, as those sort of retorts are normally pre-pubescent, but now I can't... :thefinger:
You are as entitled to your view as I am entitled to mine, and you often make good points in your posts, so it would be great if you stuck to that instead of turning into a toddler when people disagree with your opinion.

Kennedy was utilised really badly under Griffin, as were most forwards. Every one agrees on that I think. So it's tough to make a judgement on what he could be like under Wayne. The same thing goes for Blair at the Tigers, who have been a bit of a basket case in the last couple of years.

Blair may prove a good recruit, but there is absolutely nothing to say that Kennedy or Hannant couldn't be as good or better, and while stats only say so much, they are certainly indicative of a player's capacity, and the only way to speculate about their potential to perform under a new coach.

People are mentioning negatives and having to cop smart ass responses constantly. It adds nothing.

Heed you own words, you contributions in this forum are down to troll level. Stop commenting on people being negative. They are as entitled to do so, as you are to be blind from the sunlight shining out of Wayne's arse. Stick to the topic!

Blair has done absolutely nothing since his departure from the Storm to justify people raving about it.

I believe and hope Wayne will be able to utilise him in a better fashion, but he could've done exactly the same with Hannant or Kennedy, especially the latter who has the size, motor and youth over Blair, and probably costs about the same.

I don't want to get into this anymore but all I will say is what you have said to cult and the people being positive can be exactly the same about the people being negative.

No one is right or wrong but I don't think singling one person out helps anything, as for calling someone a troll, or their posts troll level
Is just offensive

You have chosen to single cult out to tell him to stop calling for people to be positive, yet say nothing to posters that are telling others to stop being positive.

I don't disagree with any of that, but why couldn't that be achieved with Kennedy? Except for offloads, he shits all over Blair in everything!

I don't get where all this Kennedy love is coming from. He was absolute crap for the majority of this season.

I have no Kennedy love. And I agree that he was shit. My feeling is that Blair has been similarly shit, and if we're going to have someone shit in the team, we could at least not spend more money on making it happen.

Mostly though, I'm disappointed that WB has brought back a player he's worked with before whose currently going poorly, instead of attempting to work with a player that is new to him that is also going poorly.

Everyone else does, so I figured.. why not?

I always give consideration to both sides of an argument, I've said many times that I'm still not sure on whether Bennett made the correct choice in sacking Hannant & Kennedy and signing Blair, many times.. So instead of focusing on trying to prove me wrong with ridiculous stats that are swayed by 100 different variables like minutes played, position played, roster playing along side.. and many more, just understand that everyone has different views & opinions, and not all arguments can be settled on a forum, in fact very few can.

All fair points.

Career wise though, Blair has done better things than Kennedy.

People were questioning Kennedy's consistency in 2012....questioning his go forward in 2013 and then in 2014, he was a complete fizzle.

Maybe WB doesn't see the potential in him? That's hard to argue against IMO.

I've been pretty disillusioned with our forward pack for a number of years now. I'm optimistic about any change.

It could well be WB doesn't see the potential in him. Not really a crime at all, but after all the experienced players he continually brought back at Newcastle, it makes me nervous when it happens here (not including Boyd in this context).

One thing I'll give Blair is he was quite good in the Storm side (i.e. a good side). With Milford and Hunt around there's still a strong chance he'll improve on the last 3 years. Of course, he has gone from receiving Farah dummy half service to McCullough dummy half service!

Blair's offloads is the one thing I do kinda understand about his signing. Since I don't see Milford as a real half, I think he needs to play off the back of 2nd phase play as much as possible, so Parker, McGuire, Blair, Garbutt etc will all need to offload the ball more (well, maybe not Parker) and pass it more before hitting the defensive line.

Actually, Hunt will benefit from the same thing too, neither he or Milford are organising sorts of players, but more reactive ones.

Yes he was... where do you see love though? Just because I think Kennedy shits over Blair, doesn't mean I think he's amazing or anything close to it.

I think WB would be able to get more out of Kennedy than Blair, that's all.

I honestly think Blair may be even better than Kennedy

One thing is for sure, the off-loads are going to be jizz worthy this season with Parker & Blair, if only we had 2012 Barba on the team :P

Oh well, I'm hoping 2014 Milford will be similar.

Wayne obviously sees something in Blair. Who knows, maybe he looks at how Blair has been utilised so far, and what he is capable of and thinks "I know how to use those skills to make him much more useful". Look at what he did with Weyman. A plodder if ever I've seen one, turned in to the backbone of a premiership winning pack. Think of how much more potential there is in Blair.

Brought to you by Maxibon - when was the last time you had one of those delicious bits of creamy chocolatey goodness?

Don't forget Blair is a great wrestler (in addition to offloader), and plays hard and intimidating. I would imagine that he will rotate with Gavet, that way there will at least one enforcer on the field at all times.

Remember there was a lot of criticism of our forward pack last year? Apart from McGuire and Parker, we were a bunch of poodles. I love to think back to the days of Tallis, Thorn, Carroll, Ryan etc. Then I look at Glenn, who I think has never hurt a player (legally) in a tackle...

I think Blairs a great addition and have faith that WB will get the best out of him.( I will add the translation for you know who.)Blairs a world beater who is in the absolute elite class and his coach, who has never failed or made a mistake will add shine to Blair elevating him to God like status.

I think Willie Mason played some of the best football of his career under Bennett.

I think Willie Mason played some of the best football of his career under Bennett.

He did play very well and was a standout in an underperforming team but the Willie Mason of 2002-2006 was unstoppable and a sight to behold. If he continued that form he might've gone down as an all time great.

I've got a feeling Blair is respected by most other players in the competition. Perhaps there is an intimidation factor among opposition players, which is probably the reason Bennett has added him to the squad. I'm not sure, but that could be a possible reason why Bennett has a high opinion of him.

Plus he doesn't mind a fight either hahahah

Or perhaps Bennett had a close eye on the way he leads the Haka for the Kiwi's, not just this four nations series, but all international matches. He's certainly very intimidating during the Haka and Bennett probably see's some mongrel in him that can solve our front row problems.

Who knows what Bennett thinks, but either way I'm excited about 2015.
