CONFIRMED - Adam Blair to Broncos

The pack looks better if only for Thaiday in the 2nd row and Parker at lock. Lets hope he doesn't flog Thaiday and only plays him in short stints replaced by Oates on the right

The NRMA Insurance Broncos have added another dynamic piece to their forward-pack jigsaw puzzle with the signing of experienced international Adam Blair beginning with the 2015 season.

I think you guys are missing the big picture here, this is good news because it means we NEVER have to see -

Parker at Prop
Thaiday at Prop / Lock
Gillett at Lock

Thank the lord! Now they can play their ideal positions every game this season, even if Blair comes here and isn't much better than Kennedy, we'll still be a much better team for having our best players in their preferred positions.

And just quietly, like I said earlier in the thread, Blair has been shit for the Tigers, but he's in the perfect spot in his career and geographically to have a monster comeback season, well that's what I'm hoping for anyway :)

I hope for the best but really question the purchase and recruitment of mediocrity. Much rather put a little faith into the future than mortgage the present. Not an ideal signing by any means. WE NEED large mammals in the prop position. That means 6'4 plus hitting and running machines. Humans that scare other humans and not an average back rower. We already got a few of them anyways.

No matter how hard they try sugar coating shit will never end well. What a terrible signing. The club needs big props not forwards like Blair who struggle to make a tackle and can't bend the line. Woeful signing from Bennett. The man has lost touch with the game but Milford and Hunt will carry him to glory.

Some of the comments on Facebook are just stupid to read. Saw some post along the lines off "yeah brah we've got our man lets flick off the hopeless McGuire etc, they add nothing"

I actually don't mind this signing tbh.

For starters, we are probably paying him around 1/2 of what he was at the Tigers for next season with them propping up the rest.

Also, without Blair, we'd probably have Garbutt, Gavaet as well as Wallace or Dodds etc, in our 17. I see Blair as the lesser of 2 evils here.

Our Pack is quite well balanced now.

All of that could've been achieved keeping Kennedy, or even Hannant, whom I still rate well above Blair.

I hope you will end up being right, but I am well and truly concerned with the direction we have taken under Bennett... This is the Knights failure v.2, but as Beads said, Hunt and Milford might make the difference Newcastle didn't have.

Just take heart that this signing is further preventing Waddell from playing a game.

We wanted someone intimidating in our pack...

"how does the 2.6 missed tackles compare"

Glad someone is asking a good question. 27.7/30.3 = 91+% made tackles. This is good, particularly for backrower stats, but needs to be balanced with where on the field he is defending and where is he making/missing. Centre of field this is an ok percentage, wider out this is good percentage. When you consider Gillett and Glenn have, in recent years, been worst in league for backrowers, often in the low 80s, it is not a bad sign.

My question is how much influence does Kearney have now within this current regime? This signing seems to indicate a fair amount of influence. Good or no?

Hard not to rate Kennedy or Hannant over Blair as they are props and Blair is not.

This guy is my most hated Broncos player since Michael Anus.
