Enough is Enough - Time to Make Our Voices Heard

There is video of the May incident.
Well CCTV footage at least of him dragging the victim to the ground.
Dunno if that is better or worse than mobile phone footage, but i dont think it would make a whole lot of difference.
Has the CCTV footage of the May incident been released to the public. If it is part of an ongoing police investigation I would doubt it. If it hasn't been released, there is your answer. As I posted earlier the NRL is an entirely reactive administration. The greater the uproar in public, the greater the reaction.

Yea i think only the NRL has seen it, cant be certain on that though.

This right here Mchunt is why i am annoyed.
Even blokes who are not fans of the Broncos can see how backwards these punishments are.

There has been a bunch of examples given where this has happened as well, its not a one off situation.

I don't understand how public sporting role models caught doing cocaine (illegal and a terrible look for the game) can get a lighter punishment than two blokes shoving each other (not illegal).

Public racism (Tedesco)
Assault occasioning bodily harm (May)
Cocaine use (Storm trio and Walsh)
Repeated violent outbursts (Walker)
Repeated drug and violence offenses (Burgess)

All get lighter punishments than two Broncos shoving each other after a birthday celebration.
How do you explain that?

Payne will be done and dusted in a day or two. It's a trivial misdemeanor, that's only being punished to appease the fans and gossip mongering public. May's case is ongoing. It's not the NRL's job to prejudge.
I'm pretty sure they pre-judged on the Barba DV case outside the casino.

If you want to do this right, I think the best method is to draft up a template that other fans can copy and paste.

People are lazy - they may agree with the idea and premise behind it, but going to the effort of having to think of something to write up, etc is too much effort for many folk, unfortunately.

If you can write up a simple copy and paste template, people can edit it to add in more, or make other points, or they can just copy it, and shoot it off.

Let us know when it is ready. :)

I know i said i wouldn't watch, but i cant help it.

I've sent my email, but in true Morkel style it's 8 pages long and prohibitively complex.

Can you please send more of these? If you send enough, they'll just what you ask to make you stop.

Am copying this from the other thread to fire this one up again:

I'll be sending another email. I also sent one to the the NRL and will send another one.

Here is where you can find contact details: https://www.nrl.com/contact-us

Nothing of course will come of it but at least I can say I've tried.

Essentially, I have pointed out (and feel free to mention something around these):

- Why was there no action taken despite Tedesco admitting racial comments toward a woman, especially in light of the NRL's stated goal around women and inclusivity, yet Kotoni Staggs is expected to meet with the NRL CEO and undertake educational programs
- Why were no sanctions forthcoming toward Mitchell and another Rabbitohs player for essentially the same thing Kelly and Haas have been suspended for
- Why are Haas and Kelly's actions deemed as bad as Dylan Walker's violence AND after being a repeat offender
- Why is this situation considered as bad or worse than taking illegal substances and being also caught on camera
- Why is Milford not allowed to register a contract / play despite being exonerated, yet May can continue to play despite being under criminal investigation
- I have also asked why Staggs' suspension was to be served after an injury and can they point out any other instances where this has occurred

I have mentioned that I am not even saying they should not have received a suspension, I am just wanting to know on what basis do they make their decisions and why are they seemingly so inconsistent. I have tried to keep it civil. I am not expecting a reply.

Just sent this through (thanks for the copy past sproj)

Haas suspended?

I have been a season member for a long time, I love the game of rugby league but I have had enough. This is the final straw. Not bothered about it on its own but it is one set of rules for the broncos and another for everyone else. Over it... there are literally dozens of examples of the last few years but I will point out just a couple, happy to give more if you wish. I will Cc a few media outlets too that aren't news limited. Also cancelling my kayo membership despite the increase in broncos games and new ads they made with the Broncos players in them....

If we want a reaction I strongly encourage everyone to cancel their kayo or foxtel subscription. They ask for a reason where you can comment. If 1 or 2 people don't it won't matter of course, but if 100's do it the nrl will QUICKLY change their tune towards it. News limited have all the power, it of course doesn't help us bcos there is far more money in a "club in turmoil" at the moment. But lots and lots of subscription loss DIRECTLY bcos of the nrl treatment will mean a rapid change I am 100% sure of it
