I'm pretty much resigned to refs putting the whistle away in the dying stages of a game. Especially golden point time. Only the most blatant fouls get picked up and even then it's 50/50 that they do.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLDDDDD and dump the player to the ground rendering their advantage null

and...

the old Justin Hodges play it 3m off the mark that's in style.

You'd fix the game up if you penalised those.

As Lockyer's play the ball, I'm not sure what the interpretation was back then, but you often see them let go if the ball is played back eventually. I could be wrong, but Blair just made an absolute meal of it and never tried to fix it up.

My problem with calling it a lost ball is the guy who kicks it a little forward is trying to play it correctly but makes a small error which only disadvantages his own team by slowing things up but a guy who throws it between his legs is not even attempting a correct play the ball but that is ok and gives his team a big advantage. WTF kind of application is that

I remember Bennett blasted the media after the game because they had been writing all week that TC didn't deserve to be there.

He took the program to the press conference and when they asked why are you so mad you won- let me show you what they wrote about my team.

It said in the little blurb under each player that Peter Ryan was lucky to be there, TC was lucky etc.

This ESL Champions League is really low standard and very poorly attended as well. It is not even ISC calibre. I like the relegation system though and it amazes me that there are 40 clubs in the top 3 divisions. Where does the money come from to keep these clubs afloat?
