Golf - Who Plays?

I've heard some of the bunkers at Brookwater are next level bullshit. It's on my list of things to do pretty soon.
I played my first round there as a member today. One of the bunkers is genuinely 5m deep, need to hit a flop shot just to get it out.

Was in NZ last week and played a round at Jacks Point. Truly remarkable golf course.

club champs starting this weekend at ashgrove. aiming not to come last and a top 15 finish in C grade haha.

just not sure i can put together 4 solid rounds.

yeah nah no good hey, 104 on day 1 and then 116 day 2 so club champs are gone for this year.

got round 3 tomorrow and round 4 next saturday.

had a lesson today at wantima and essentially i need to rework my entire swing, so that's going to be fantastic trying to replicate this tomorrow. may as well start now though and aim for 2025, wasn't going to improve keeping the old way.

Wow just went to the range and tried to reinforce what I had learnt.

Getting an extra 20-30yards comparatively on each club. I know range balls and mats etc but was never hitting this far before.

Signed upto the practice facilities last night at golf Central.

440 for 12 months and unlimited balls in the short chipping/100 yard range. Grass isn't in bad shape either with a bunch of varying lies to practice all sorts of shots. The practice bunker has some decent length and depth too.

Aiming to try and hit 350 balls a week, hopefully yield some sort of improvement.

Finished off the cc with a 95 off the stick, 13 shots better than last week. If only...

Oh well, a good benchmark for 2025 cc.

Back to the range this coming week, the 350 balls hit during the week gone seemed to help a bit today, definitely felt a bit more control over my shots.

down to 27hcp, so dropped 5 shots since august. unlikely to hit 25 before end of year but goal is to be 19.x by end of 2025.

probs go for a fitting next week at vic park, have my eye on the t350s. not sure what driver yet, apparently the ping 425 or 430's are super forgiving so may go down this path.

had a fitting last night, getting a ping 430 max for a driver. huge improvement on my current driver and my best drives on that were around 245m, which i was lucky to get 215 out of on my old driver (some 80 dollar 2nd hand thing from vic park that had the flex of a fishing rod)

not getting irons on their recommendation, was told go away and have some more lessons and come back lol.

but appreciated their honesty, they said whatever they recommended me now could totally change once i improve my technique.

but for the record, they had the srizon zxi5's and the titleist t200's as the potential irons, so will revisit this in march/april and see if anything has changed.

Would avoid Titleist irons. You can't miss with Ping irons if you're looking for a game improver. I'm expecting delivery of 52/56/60 Vokey SM10 wedges next week.

Although have forgotten how to play golf entirely. Handicap has gone from 1.8 in Feb this year out to 5.5

Playing golf tomorrow. First game back after knee surgery. Should be interesting.

1PM tee off so will be nice and warm
