I'm pretty sure Alfie used tripping as a tactic to help him bring down the big guys.

I know you are just defending your love even though he is just a stain but you are not doing much to defend the team in your username.

I'm pretty sure James Graham and quite a few big players still use tripping to bring people down. Graham does it nearly every game I watch. What he is doing might be legal but I'm assuming Alfie's trips were legal too. At any rate he certainly wasn't doing it to hurt someone and there's no way he kicked someone in the face, kicked at someone and head high in the same game.

Alf would always put his hands on the player first which was completely legal and he would throw them over his leg. There was no force applied with the leg.

Sadly I didn't watch much NRL growing up, but my dad would always tell me how Alf would grab props by the collar first, stick his leg out and yank them down to the ground over his leg. Really need to watch classic games, think I have the one they showed last week recorded.

Agreed. I can't believe he stayed on the field as long as he did. Honestly if the refs don't have the stones to use the sin bin when it counts, cut it out of the game. Use it or lose it.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs five-eighth Josh Reynolds has today been charged by the match review committee after he was placed on report during the Broncos match last Friday night.
The 25-year-old was placed on report in the 51st minute for lashing out with his feet on Sam Thaiday and was then put on report 18 minutes later for a ‘trip’ on Ben Barba.
Reynolds has been charged with two offences with the decision to be made whether to contest the charges by 12 noon tomorrow.
Charges are:

51[SUP]st[/SUP] minute – dangerous contact (feet); Grade 1 – Base Penalty 100, Early Plea 75, Guilty 100 – Carry Overs to be added – 88; On – Sam Thaiday

69[SUP]th[/SUP] minute – Tripping; Grade 2 – Base Penalty 175, Early Plea 183, Guilty 245 – Carry overs to be added – 88; On – Ben Barba
