Haas - Off Field Dramas

We all read your rebuttal and just because you believe it doesn't mean everyone else does. In fact, I think most people would agree it seemed heavy handed but were happy the Broncs took the stance they did

On this point, where to now? What’s a suitable punishment for him seeing though we through the book at him for a relatively minor (in comparison) offence.

Other experiences lol.

I couldn’t afford to pay rego so drove unregistered. I needed to get to work, twice.

I also picked my mum up when she needed it and I got done.

Lock me up.
Funny that there is always an excuse (along the eternal bullshit "youth" one, or the "he/she's family", so we'll pretend it didn't happen) and it's never serious enough to warrant punishment... which keeps enabling the behaviour until it goes really wrong.

I won’t post again in this thread.

You blokes are all beyond reproach and Payne deserves the public stoning he’s sure to receive this time around.

I think you tend to miss the point to all this, irrelevant of age, influences, childhood, if he prefers Reebok over Nike - hes paid the big bucks to be a role model, ambassador for the club and a professional athlete. Everything he does is scrutinised with more focus than a regular Joe. There is no excuse! His poor choices and discipline if not curbed into shape will affect the opportunities his career has - and while he is on the book for Brisbane, it will affect the team and club.

you and others seem to want all the experience pushed out the door in favour of these young dickheads ... and if that happens you can expect this shit to occur more frequently

Really?
....where have I asked for experience to be pushed out the door?(other than the Alex Glenn reference I recently made)

I'm not talking about players mindering younger players.

Training staff....the multitude of legends that frequent the Broncos club house, every day...etc etc.

The driving without a license is clearly pretty stupid. The other one where he refused to cooperate with the police when they were investigating a fight in which his family was involved in had me confused...he had every right not to cooperate in the investigation, it’s the beauty of the right to remain silent. if the police were that desperate to get the information that he had knowledge about they should of issued him with a subpoena to attend court. With it being a civil matter and without his involvement I don’t feel the broncos should of been involved at all.

It wasn't the cops. It was the integrity unit / HR of his employer.

Oh ok, that makes even less sense to why they were involved in the first place, they should of let the cops do their job and they should of been more understanding that it was a family matter and that he would prefer not to disclose personal information. What is done, is done I guess

I’m glad he’s being paid the big bucks, I can get behind his character... he backs his family. That shows more about a bloke than anything else.

I made errors as a kid. We all did, just not all of us dare concede it. Payne is 19 and people want to string him up.... shame.

Well his big bucks "character" so far has just landed himself a court appearance, in which he couldn't even wear (borrow/rent/ebay/kmart/purchase) appropriate shoes to respect the court. This to me shows character alright.

You picking on his shoes has me thinking you’re like a reporter...

As in I wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire

You believe that's bad but there's a post a couple further back where the poster writes "I'm not talking about players MINDERING younger players" !! I mean, it's not even a word and truthfully I don't even know what he's trying to convey with it.

Because it happened at a footy game and it involved the family of a registered player while that player was with them. Why would they just ignore that?

When your workplace conducts an investigation, your family code does not matter in the slightest. You are expected to cooperate.

Mindering...... that’s a lost cause
