Hodges may retire at the end of this year

Milford has been developing in the halves nicely and was great last game. No offence mate but you believe(d) that Peter Wallace is/was the half we need(ed), so...

Yeah I still believe a Wallace and Hunt pairing would have been better than a Hunt and Hoffman pairing. You caught me.

I think there is a 3rd group and it is the group i'm in:

THE BRONCOS SHOULD ALWAYS STRIVE TO BE THE BEST ... AND THE BEST OPTION FOR THE BRONCOS IS TO HAVE MILFORD, HUNT AND TAYLOR IN THE SPINE.

IMO, out of those three players, the best option for fullback is Milford

Bullshit. All your category is is a variation of option 2 but just another way for you to say you want milford at fullback (mate we know, we all fucking know. My wife doesn't even know you or like football and even she knows Foordy wants Milford at fullback) and for you to somehow suggest that if we don't want to through a kid into the halves and break up a developing partnership we don't think 'the Broncos should always strive for the best'

****

Cracked up.

I don't just want Taylor in the side because we might lose him, I don't think a player should be selected if that is the sole reason to put someone in the side.

I happen to think it makes our spine stronger to have Taylor in the side. our attack still looks clueless on the time, and someone of Taylors talent could solve that problem, especially since he offers us something that no one else in the spine does.

and I'm sorry if my opinion is such a big problem for you

So remove two halves who are still learning to play together after only 10 weeks just to make sure an unproven player who a few people say is a gun can be put into the squad untried?

Some agendas are good, some just suck.

Another halves argument thread....

On topic, I want to see Hodgo go around one more year after this, without the strain of origin on him I'd like to see what he can provide.

Because in discussing who would replace him, people decided moving Boyd into replace him, to make sure we don't lose a young kid who looks alright in the lower grade comp and to give him a spot in the first grade spot.

How did a Hodges thread become another Milford/Boyd/Taylor thread

Because of everyone's fucking agendas.

Keep it in the Taylor thread! Let's keep this about hodges and his future with our without the club and his potential replacements. . That's on Topic.

I Hope Reed and maranta hit form and learn how to strike a good partnership (although maranta hasbhas been named on hodges' wing again)

I really hate the banking players in other positions bs. It cost me a first try scorer bet last week as i was expecting maramtas to be outside hodges.

True..

I think if Hodges retires that Kahu would 100% be a perfect replacement for him, he's already shown this year that he's a great finisher and can set up his outside man, also a good defender as well.

1. Boyd
2. TBA
3. TBA
4. Kahu
5. TBA
6. Milford
7. Hunt

A lot of back line spots would be up for grabs still, hopefully Copley & Oates grab 2 of them and we make a good off-season signing or two that can also push for a spot.

Yeah I think Kahu has the potential to be world class in any backline position. I'd love to see him step into Hodges vacant spot.

Hodges is a god and it's gonna be weird not having him in the team.

I don't think we need to sign anyone to replace Hodges and I don't think any backline spots will realistically be up for grabs.

1. Boyd
2. Kahu
3. Reed
4. Copely
5. Maranta

Is how I expect we'll see the boys line up without Hodges, althou I'd gladly watch Reed leave and Kahu move into his spots. The other wing in that case? NFI, who we got in the system?

that is just depressing

No problem for me mate, I just don't see the point in constantly saying you want Milford at fullback and why you need to suggest that the rest of us don't want the broncos to strive for the best just because they don't share your opinion

I apologize, I certainly didn't mean to suggest that.

It is indeed, I don't see him being dropped tho.. We may get lucky

Actually, I'm prepared to give him the year. I'm going to hate the **** out of him all year, but since the start of the season, I have seen flashes of a good player in him.

I think by the end of the year we will know if Bennett can fix him, or if he's gotta go.
