Hodges on report

It was on 4BC radio, that it will be 6 weeks.

BRISBANE centre Justin Hodges is in danger of missing the remainder of the State of Origin series after being issued a grade three dangerous throw charge by the NRL match review committee.
An early guilty plea will wipe the Maroons ace out for six matches after he tipped Parramatta hooker Mark Riddell on his head midway through the first half of Friday night's clash at Suncorp Stadium.

Hodges is in danger of being sidelined for eight games should he unsuccessfully fight the charge at the NRL judiciary.

Parramatta and NSW centre Jarryd Hayne is also likely to miss Origin II in Brisbane on June 11 after being charged with a grade two dangerous throw, which carries a minimum two week ban.

So much for not being a dangerous tackle and he will get off that many thought !!!!

Grade 3 a bit harsh but he is a repeat offender for exactly the same tackle. They will have no option but to plead guilty and perhaps look to get a downgrade to grade 2 at best.......bloody idiot who's having more and more brain snaps as he's getting older

Thanks schmix.

Gradings are fair. Hodges' penalty particularly tough given the 50% loading for the incident earlier this year.

Bet he's not smirking now like he was when he got called out.
Hope the bloke grows up and decides to lose the attitude during his holiday. Also hope the Broncos consider docking him some pay.

By the way, given the severity of the grading, must be some suggestion that Jason Robinson should be brought to account for not sending him off.

wouldnt be back until bulldogs game on july 13 i think......... i can see us loosing quite a few games between now and then......

I agree Russo - I thought the grading was a bit harsh, but when you consider that Hayne got slapped with a grade 2, I don't think there's any chance of a downgrade for Hodgo.

Disappointing but it will give him time to rest his body .

No fair minded person thought Hodges would get off.

Late, needless, dangerous...copped what he deserved.

Quick off topic question. If Thaiday gets suspended for one week, would he miss origin and the club game??

The highlighted words being the key ones of course [icon_wink

Agree re suspension but thought 3 - 4, maybe 5 but then again has a reputation now so only way he might learn.

I assume Sammy T got off as no mention in the article re him possibly missing SOO II

I agree with Russo, i thought Haynes was just as bad considering play was halted.... i dont think 6 and 2 weeks respectively is reflective of that. Hodges should go for 4 weeks.... bit of a brain explosion from a so called senior player.

But some people just waffle on & on.

If you like you can ban me for life, for my sins of not reading 4 odd pages.

Hodges is a great attacking player but one of the laziest defenders I've ever seen. He only puts the effort in when there's an opportunity to do something spectacular (ie. push into touch or drag back into the in-goal), everything else is all hands and arms grabbing - no body in it at all. I doubt the tackle was intentional but it certainly could have been avoided.

[icon_lol1. @ O'Donnell facing three separate charges.

I thought Oake may have gotten more than a week, he looked straight at Kemp before raising his elbow - definitely didn't look accidental to me.

Hodges should take the early guily plea and run I think.

Not much point in contesting it. Was a stupid play from him, should pay the time for his crime.
