Hodges on report

The only reason Ridell went up the tunnel was because he was getting flash backs of when he was a kid getting dropped on his head by his parents...

I'd say 6-8 weeks. It was as bad a spear tackle as I've seen in a while

It wasn't a spear tackle.

Well, he wasn't driven into the ground but he was not only above the horizontal, he was pretty much vertical. Dangerous throw may be the correct terminology. Let's not kid ourselves, if the roles were reversed we'd be calling for Riddell's head.

Exactly and the fact that he had to go off to get checked out says a lot of the incident, he landed very awkwardly and could have done damage. Hodges deserves to get at least 3 or 4 matches for the facts its late, dangerous and he has a blatant history of this type of tackle.

Dumb dumb tackle.Hodgo makes me so angry with some of the dumb things he does. Why the hell was he laughing after it?Nervous laughter perhaps.
He has to go of course also will be interesting to see what Haynes gets with Origin around the corner.

Watching both Hodges' and Hayne's tackles, I think as bad as Hodgo's is, Hayne's is worse. They are very similar besides Riddel landing on his head, but that could have just as easilly happened to Carroll, so I don't think that should be a factor in distinguishing the two tackles. Other than that, unlike Hayne, Hodges didn't follow through with the tackle, he let go pretty early on - Pig Riddel just displayed his amazing olymic diving skills. An Olympic of getting yourself injured... Also, there could be a case that Hodges thought Riddel still had the ball - Hodges' head went down before Riddel passed. And as for Hayne, unless he misheard the call, then he just clearly did it on purpose?

Why am I comparing the two? Firstly, I don't want to see Hayne get any special treatment. He should be getting just as much, if not more week than Hodges. Secondly, I was watching some idiots talking on Bigpond Sports - one of them pretty much said Hayne's was fine, and Hodges should have been sent off. Yeah right...

If you were representing Hodges and used those arguments infront of the judiciary, he would probably end up with a 10 week suspension.

No way Haynes was worse than Hodges. Hodges tackle was even later than Hayne's and Riddell was vertical and went head first into the ground. Come on, if even Ben Ikin can recognise this then im sure some people on this board can too. And if part of your argument is that Riddell purposely dived head first into the ground, well then im sure you'll understand that people wont take you seriously.

Hodges will get 4-6 weeks.

Hodges was worse and he should get punished accordingly, maybe he will learn from it....maybe. I would give Hayne 2, Thaiday 1 and Hodges 5 or so.

That's a shocker.

Riddell gets flipped up onto his head and you claim he tried to get himself hurt or that he dived? Both theories are dumb, don't throw everyone else in the same grubby folder as your lover boy Michael Louganis Ennis.

Hodges will get 3-4 and Hayne will get 2-3 IMO. And that guy who elbowed Deanan should get at least 2 - Southern was sent off for the Cowboys for an elbow that was nowhere near as bad.

oooppps my bad, thanks for correcting me. And yes I agree he is a grub, but his elbow wasn't really a send-off

Stupid, stupid tackle. I'd say out for 4 weeks.

I must say though I'm impressed that he actually managed to get that fat tub of lard off the ground that far in the first place... [icon_wink
