Agreed.

I am all for building and preparing for the future, but we still have a Premiership to win this year. Maybe if we were someone like the Sharks who aren't a serious Premiership contender we would go with the combination that will benefit us next season but we can win a Premiership this season and IMO the best way to do it is to stick with that is working and a large part of our success this season has been the Lockyer-Folau combination on the right.

Hodges has played on the left for Australia before and played very well so he can play there for the rest of this season, and next season return to his favoured right side.

We are agreeing far too much lately mate! :P

Yes!!! Lucky there is a decent law which prevents us from getting married [icon_wink

LOL Jeba!
What do people think about having Hodges at right centre with Folau right wing?
Do we really need to strengthen the left centre spot, IMO Gillett will kill it there.

No Yow Yeh has cemented his spot on the right wing IMO, also Gillett, Te'o and Glenn are only temporary centres.

Basically when Hodges comes back, everything stays the way it is now, Hodges goes to left centre, IMO.

We are going to have trouble with getting our bench right IMO. I think best makeup of the bench is 2 props (Kenny/Anderson/McGuire/Dodds, assuming Tronc and Setu retain their starting spots) a back rower (Gillett/Glenn) and a utility (Glenn/Hunt). Either one of Gillett, Glenn or Hunt will need to miss out. I know the age old saying "it's a good problem to have" but IMO it is not a good problem to have when one of these blokes has to play QCup.

Gillett
No way should he miss out. Been one of our best this season and provides impact each time he comes off the bench.

Glenn
Been playing out of position for most the season so hasn't had the impact he had in 2009 but IMO has to be in the team for his all-round ability and versatility.

Hunt
Doesn't deserve to be dropped on current form and our current plan of starting Macca and Hunt coming off the bench at hooker is working well.

Seriously, WTF do you do!!!!! [icon_shru

drop hunt. gillet and glenn are too valuable. we can easily play without hunt. if your hooker cannot play 80 mins, find a new hooker

I would be inclined to agree. Still disappointed for whoever gets dropped.

The 4th bench spot needs to be used to give both Hunt and Glenn plenty of experience so pick them on rotation.

Mate i have been saying this for the past 4 or so weeks on the Hunt vs McCollough thread.

I said that if the broncos continue to have Hunt and Mac in the same side it will weaken our foward pack and it means 2 of Glen, Kenny, Anderson, Sims, Dodds, MaGuire miss out.

Hunt has to be the person to miss out when Hodges is fit. Glen will be the utility along with Gillet and the two best props

Yeh Donny I have seen you've been pretty vocal about it recently. I think you're calling for Ivan to lose the bench hooker now though are you not? If so, I disagree because at the moment we can fit both and quite frankly it's working quite well. It's when Hodges comes back that the call has to be made.

Oh please. These guys are professional footballers, and why they get paid more than most of us earn is because they can adapt and change. Hodges is the incumbent centre and one of the senior players at the Broncos and would have been at right centre all season if he had not been injured. Folau should move to the left, and Hodges should stay on the right. We'll be more dangerous on both sides now and I'm sure Lockyer and Wallace are both good enough to accommodate the move.

After such a long lay-off I think it would be unwise to move Hodges into unfamiliar territory. As well, he's a specialist right centre whether or not he can play well on the left.

Apart from which, it won't hurt, but even enhance our attack to play Folau on the left so we have powerful options on both sides.

With such experienced halves, I can't see them having too many problems with that.

And when Hodges returns, it has to be Hunt or McC to drop off. I'd keep Hunt.

I'm not sure about who to keep, it's too damn hard to decide and to be honest whoever we choose will be good for us. How lucky are we at the moment?

Test centre Justin Hodges was also missing on Friday night and there is no time frame on when he will return from an achilles injury with reports his progress in recent weeks has not been encouraging.

Fark, I hope this isn't true. I was so hoping to see him walk onto the Skilled Park paddock...
[icon_frown I really, really, really hope that isn't true. We need a fit and firing Justin G...reat Hodges coming into the final series with at least a few games under his belt!

I'm still optimistic hoping he'll be named to play in round 19 [icon_pray.

edit: offensive material adjusted

Yup. By far the worst injury a footballer of any code can get. Once it ruptures, huge chance of reinjury. And you use it every time you push off to run. Horrible stuff. I'd rather do my ACL.
