I recall a good few years back one of the Broncos best ever halves and one of our best ever forward's sitting in the stands knocking back a couple of rum and cokes and having a few durries during the reserve grade game. Both played blinders that day, so I tend to not comment on footy players and alcohol.

It's a tough one.

Not being at a pub or a night club is about the only thing he got right.

From one angle, it's a storm in a teacup but it's still a piss poor look from him and the club.

Yeah I think Roberts just needs to leave it alone and consider himself lucky he still has a job.

Of course is it likely pure speculation but it does actually make sense. Roberts seems to have hit a setback in his substance abuse progression and Wayne really did help him out. The Broncs have Bird and Staggs as potential long-term centre options and this side does not look like challenging this year, so they seem to be going the short-term pain for long-term gain route.

Now, if only the Broncs can get Ponga out of his contract at Newcastle.

It makes sense really, Souths would obviously have the coin for it if Inglis retired. Roberts played his best footy under Bennett and they seem to have a good working relationship. It would be a big hit to our attack, but I've liked what I've seen out of Bird & Staggs so far this season, and that $500K could be useful to put towards retaining the likes of TPJ, Oates & Flegler who are all off-contract.

It certainly wouldn't hurt the "culture" either.

I think Weedler's strike rate is usually more hit than miss though, compared to Lurker and Mole. Might be something in this rumour if Weedler is reporting it too. It kinda adds up, Jimmy going off the rails again now that Wayne is no longer here.
