Jarrod Wallace to the Titans

There is an article on courier mail that hints a Broncos player is heading to union alongside Wallace to Titans and Eden to England. Any idea on who it is? I can't post the actual article sorry, haven't got a subscription.

WAYNE Bennett is facing a player exodus at Brisbane, with St Helens targeting Jack Reed and prop Jarrod Wallace to receive a $400,000 upgrade from the Titans. The Courier-Mail can reveal the Titans are set to announce Wallace’s signature within days.
The Broncos are resigned to losing the rising prop to their Queensland rivals and Wallace could be joined at the exits by backline duo Reed and Lachlan Maranta, who revealed he is seriously weighing up a code switch with rugby’s Queensland Reds.

Reed is considering a big money offer from St Helens.Reed is contracted to Brisbane until the end of next season but his future at Red Hill is grim. The 28-year-old is sidelined indefinitely with a shoulder injury, the fifth of his career, and will not be offered a new contract when his current deal expires.
Bennett will not stand in the way of Reed leaving the Broncos if he can secure a more lucrative deal with St Helens, who have sounded out the British Test star.
Because of his British heritage, Reed is attractive to UK clubs as he does not count as an import.
Reed is doing everything possible to recover from his latest shoulder setback but there is a possibility the rugged centre has played his final game in Broncos colours.
“It’s a tough position for Jack to be in,” Broncos teammate Adam Blair said.
“He’s had a lot of trouble with his shoulders and since I’ve been here, I’ve watched him do so much rehab.
“Unfortunately, there comes a point in your life when your body gives up on you. The most important thing for Jack is to try and get back and if he doesn’t, at least he gave it a crack.”
The Broncos were hopeful of retaining Wallace but barring a last-minute backflip, the Titans have got their man.

Wallace is a bigger loss than some of you are giving him credit for but I am a fan of Fai so am keen to see him get a shot or as suggested, bring in Sims...and Gagai.

I like him as a bench / depth prop, but if tht Tits want to pay him $200k a year more than us for him, pointless trying to get in a bidding war for him...

This deserves its own thread, imo. I'm interested in observing BHQ's response to this departure, because I feel personally like Wallace is stuck in that grey area between "journeyman prop" and "mainstay in the squad". Obviously he has been regularly selected for a while now so he is closer to mainstay than journeyman, but for some reason I don't find myself too upset about him leaving.

Poor old badel is only a few days late to the punch again, this is what I mentioned last week about certain rumblings around next years roster. The titans missed gillett for massive $ so they went hard at wallace. The $ I'm hearing they paid for him are super impressive, you can't be grudge him for taking up the sort of cash they offered.
I didnt want to post anything as wallace was going to announce it to his team mates after the game against the bunnies sat night.

I'm also hearing some other crazy stuff, not sure I believe it though....

Our forward pack will be way too inexperienced next year...

fai was super impressive on Sunday and has been for majority of the year in q cup, and he has another year to go on his contract. I expect him though to jump ship as im not sure he will hang about with limited opportunities.

I can vouch for Talanoa. Knew about this last week.

Really hope Fai sticks around, perfect impact forward.

Problem for next year is who gone play lock and what gone be bench rotation? If Broncos gone sign someone who gone be and how much matt gillett gone get paid with new contract.

To be fair though, there is a difference between knowing about it and writing it in a statewide paper.

Care to elaborate a little more on the crazy stuff you have heard? Many thanks.

Taking away Parker and Wallace next season leaves our middle forwards a bit raw experience-wise. There are a handful of seasoned forwards up for grabs that I would look at.

Moa, Browne, Tagatese and Matagi.

Gee if we got Napa that would be special.

What's happening with molo?

Suspended again (or most likely will be) for another shoulder charge that ended up in an unfortunate punch up given the team he was playing against.

Sam Thaiday - 248 club games, 28 Origin games, 29 Internationals.

Adam Blair - 228 club games, 35 Internationals.

Matt Gillett - 145 club games, 15 Origin games, 2 internationals.

Alex Glenn - 183 club games, 12 Internationals.

Josh McGuire - 142 club games, 5 Origin games, 1 (tier 1) International.

Andrew McCullough - 186 club games.

Even without any purchases, I don't think we aren't doing too badly in the experience department... Size and impact on the other hand...

After that is just a whole bunch of kids though. And a lot of these players will be missing quite often in the middle part of the season.

That is true however the situation is much the same now, only Parker in this team adds any real difference to what we will have next year experience-wise and he too was obviously missing in the middle part of this season.

Losing him will obviously be a loss, but I don't think our pack is inexperienced generally, as the above games show. That also assumes we aren't buying anyone with additional experience, which is a big assumption.

As a serious question, would it be the first time in our history we haven't bought 'any' new A grade standard player for a new season?
