Jarrod Wallace to the Titans

As a serious question, would it be the first time in our history we haven't bought 'any' new A grade standard player for a new season?

There's a 0% chance we don't sign a couple of first grade standard players for next season if we lose Parker, Reed, Wallace, Maranta & Eden.

Wallace was most likely on a low contract at Red Hill so a $200k a year pay rise is probably going from $100k-$150k to $300k-$350k. He's got a young family to think of so taking the money had to be done. Hes's a solid first grade prop. No world beater but he can do a job. As for Reed leaving. Gee that would be lovely haha.

of the players in the So called 'exodus' the only one i am slightly sad to see going is Wallace.

While i don't think he is a starting prop just yet, he is a quality bench prop and a handy player to have in our side

Exactly. Nothing to worry about but you'd be hoping to sign a few experienced forwards for next year.

Unfortunately in this day and age, you can't keep everyone but given we are probably likely to lose Reed, Wallace, Maranta, Parker and keeping most likely Gillett and KNik, not really a bad result all things considered.

Taking away Parker and Wallace next season leaves our middle forwards a bit raw experience-wise. There are a handful of seasoned forwards up for grabs that I would look at.

Moa, Browne, Tagatese and Matagi.

Gee if we got Napa that would be special.
Would very much like either Moa or Tagatese just based on their football prowess. Naturally the player and their attitude is vitally important but without knowing a great deal about that side of things either or both would be great.

I think Moa would be great, haven't seen enough of Tagatese to comment, but Moa would be an ideal fit under Bennett IMO.

I think our top targets should be K.Sims & Gagai. They're both young, both current/future Origin players, both have been terribly coached in recent years on terrible rosters.. I think Wayne could make them far better players.

When he's on song, I really rate Wallace. I thought he was excellent in the GF. But like others have said, he's not one to get in a bidding war over.

If he goes, I'd like to see us sign an experienced, reliable and hard headed prop. He just needs to complement our young stocks, as I think they're very capable but raw and In need of one more calming senior prop figure. If there's any truth to Luke Douglas being unwanted I wouldn't mind that trade.

Of the young brigade, I'd be very keen to see kikau play this Friday. He was a wrecking ball for the cowboys in u20's and regularly featured in tackle breaks (as a prop) and metres made in big league stats. Massive Fijian lump of a guy.

On the Fijian theme, could nemani valekapa be an outside back signing next year? The last few weeks his stats have been extremely impressive and I know Wayne has expresses interest before. Even writing a letter that he was keen on him, to prevent him being deported I recall. Anyone seen him play lately?

He'll be 31 next year, apparently. Possibly too late now?

Nice post. I wouldn't know Valekapa from a bar of soap tbh, but on face value it is hard to see the value in a 31 year old outside back without NRL experience.... I'd love to see us take a punt a young Fijian outside back though with raw talent to burn in the Vuni/Koribete etc sort of mould.

On a somewhat related note, I though this was a great read... And yes, it is obviously PNG not Fiji.

As you know, I support Cronulla as my second team and have watched Takeiteasy for a long time and of the two would like him as first choice. That said he seems to be a motivation type player, if up he is a beast with skills.

We need an ugly mongrel of a forward that only knows how to run straight at 1000 miles an hour.
