Jarryd Hayne NFL Career

Re: Jarryd Hayne ---> NFL

He wouldn't have been able to get a working Visa till he had work I would think.

Re: Jarryd Hayne ---> NFL

These are the requirements for a U.S work visa. It sounds like he pretty much needs a job lined up before he can file for a working visa.

Apply for a U.S. Visa | Work Visa - Australia (English)

I don't think it's an issue. It just sounds like it's not going to be finalized until after Christmas.

Unpaid training contract too. You'd think he'd be wanting to make a team sooner rather than later or just return to the NRL if he's not getting any income.

Re: Jarryd Hayne ---> NFL

You had one job Aaron..

Spell his name wrong
Get the code he came from wrong

Re: Jarryd Hayne ---> NFL

Despite the fact I think he has a cuntey streak in him, you can't help but be happy for him. He is giving it a serious crack and knows he's got Leagues image riding on his back.

Perhaps this might even be the beginning of a long sequence of events that sees Rugby League interest in America peaking to new heights unseen. "What kind of sport develops a freak like this?" will be the question of the day.

Re: Jarryd Hayne ---> NFL

Worst thing Hayne has done was be a bit of a diver earlier in his NRL career. But he's never got in off-field trouble, actually saved a girl from drowning once too... and was fantastic to watch. I guess I used to dislike him earlier because he was a NSWelshman and so good. But looking back, he was one of the great players of the modern era.

Re: Jarryd Hayne ---> NFL

did you hear the commentary when he made that big run ... "it will be headline news in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and the Gold Coast" lol ... no mention of the city that current league leaders come from, but a mention of a city that doesn't even have a league team :laugh:

Re: Jarryd Hayne ---> NFL

What are the Roosters going to do now ... I'm sure they were banking on him coming crawling back to league next year, with them :takdir:

(Click "Watch on Youtube", it doesn't work embedded for some reason)

His highlights even made the official NFL youtube channel, no mean feat.

Rothfield seemed certain of it, but I think everyone forgot that he actually had to NOT make the cut before lining him up for Rooster jersey fitting.

He hasn't made the cut yet... but he's certainly putting his hand up to be part of the 53.

Rothfield was also certain that Paul Gallen wasn't a drug cheat.

You gonna get that arm stuck in yo face!!!!

Re: Jarryd Hayne ---> NFL

Hope he kills it. But the scary part is, the NFL can so easily buy any half decent NRL player and just destroy our competition.

If Hayne does kill it, then a quick reactionary exodus may very well be on the cards. Shot term though. There are probably only 2-3 players that could come close to Hayne's skillset. Inglis being one. Maybe Folau or SBW (which is not our problem anyway). As soon as any others try & fail, the experiment will be over.

I wouldn't worry, Hayne is on a tightrope to even make the squad of 53 so half decent NRL players would not even be on the radar for even the most outside the box thinking NRL scouts.

I hope Hayne goes well over there, I admire his determination to achieve what he is doing.

Re: Jarryd Hayne ---> NFL

I feel similar to Financeguy on this and I really think people are getting very carried away with Hayne's one good run in a preseason game.

Don't get me wrong, I hope he makes it and I admire what he is doing, but he still has a long way to go.

He has a long way to go still to make the cut of 53 and even if he does it's one thing to make a good run in a preseason game when the opposition don't field their stars to doing runs like that in the regular season against full strength defences that have taken things up a notch.

Will be interesting to see what happens but commentators etc. need to calm down at the moment.
