I was actually embarrassed for the Titans watching Hayne against us. He was abominable. He should just **** off to France or Japan.
I reckon if Toovey isn't interested, maybe even if he is, they should take the punt on the Walkers. The Titans roster has all the ingredients of a side that the Walkers style could really work on. At the very least, it would change the culture there and create enthusiasm for what they would bring to the comp next season. Hayne might even look interested (given there is obviously no way he get punted).
On a related note, anyone else expecting Hayne to spin this as being the hero behind a needed regime change, just manning up for the team, etc and once again playing the victim card?
Can Hayne dig his heels in and stay?
This is pretty poor from Hayne though, another desperate club will lick their lips at having him play for them but even the most desperate club would probably offer him only 500k after next year because he is Robbie Farah-like now in levels of destabilising a club.
He knew he wouldn't get another offer like the Titans' for next year so he had to re-sign but to do that and drop his level of visible care and commitment to an all-time low is just disgraceful. Then, to top it all off, he makes himself think he is a hero by saying he is willing to walk away for the benefit of the club (when in actual fact he knows he has to be paid regardless and is taking the easy way out). He is an A-grade idiot who any club who signs him deserves the attitude that he will bring with it.
provided they get everybody on the same page.
Would the NRL allow Hayne to walk and just tear up the contract? If Hayne really wants to put his (literal) money where his mouth is, that's what he should do.

I would be completely in support of the NRL not counting the rest of the contract on the cap, so long as he either ***** off for good, or he signs a contract at another club and the entire agreed wage is on that teams cap.
