Jharal Yow Yeh injury update thread

He looks in pretty good shape here ....

That's not nice, Alex.

Hmmm...practising kicking...I've had an epiphany!!

2014:
1. Barba
2. Hoffman
6. JYY
7. Hunt

Say it ain't so...although he'd be a far better playmaker than either Barba or Hoffy, I'd hate to see him in the middle of the park getting bashed all game...

Not that i have any new info to report or anything...

.. but i thought i'd mention that i saw the boys at Brisbane Airport at lunchtime getting ready for their flight to Sydney.

What struck me most was how bad JYY was limping !! It looked really bad.

I hadn't seen him walk (in the flesh) since his accident, and it really struck me just how bad an injury it must have been.

Hope the poor kid can come back somehow though.

He looked ok at the Eels game when they had the Indigenous guys there (On that note, Choc? Like really?). He had a little bit of a hobble but walked quite easily in dress shoes on the Suncorp surface and caught up to the group fairly quickly after being a bit behind them (for whatever reason)

I wouldn't know, I'm not in the medical profession and I don't pretend to know everything, so I won't make any assumptions.
Just saying what his mum and himself said a while ago...
yeh and im saying that bandaging a hand like that, strapping fingers together and all, indicates its not just a cut hand. you dont splint fingers unless theyre broken generally.

anyway, looks like missing leg day for a few months let him focus on the glamour muscles lol.

Depends how bad he cut it. If he sliced a tendon, or required stitches in his fingers its not that unusual at all.

...aslo, you forgot to say 'nohomo'.

Bronco muscles up for Yow Yeh's return | Northern Star

IF BRONCOS and Australian winger Jharal Yow Yeh does return to the NRL, don't expect him to be the same player.
That's the word from the unlucky back, who yesterday admitted he has been forced to change his running style in a bid to get back to the big time.
The 23-year-old has not featured in the top flight since he was struck down by one of the worst injuries seen on a footy field against South Sydney in round four last year.
There were fears an ugly compound fracture in his lower right leg would end his promising career in one fell swoop.
But Yow Yeh has refused to give up, and, contrary to some media reports, said he was more determined than ever to return to the elite level.
"I'm not writing myself off, that's for sure," he said. "I'm just going to have to change my game a little bit."
The main change will be mostly giving away his trademark sidestep, instead running straighter lines in attack.
"I've still got my jump so I'm pretty happy with that," Yow Yeh said. "I've always jumped off my left foot anyway.
"But I'm probably not going to be as agile so I'm going to have to be a bit of a bigger winger and try to run over the top of some people.
"I'll be doing a lot more straight-line running instead of stepping around."
To compensate, he has concentrated on adding muscle and power to his 187cm, 96kg frame.
"The gym coach at the Broncos (Dan Baker) is really good there. He's looking after me," Yow Yeh said.
Restricted to 11 games for Broncos feeder side Norths this season, largely because of minor knee and hand injuries, he said he had been happy with the way he had trained with the Broncos when given the opportunity.
"When I'm out there I'm still sticking with the boys - I don't look out of place at all," he said.
With his lucrative contract set to expire at the end of 2015, Yow Yeh said he was keen to impress the club next season in a bid to be re-signed.
He is intent on recapturing the sort of form which saw him selected for the Maroons and Kangaroos in 2011.
"I just need to get some more footy time at the start of next year (in pre-season trials) and will hopefully be playing round one with the Broncos," he said.

It's going to be hard to fit in all these backs in the side. I mean there aren't a lot of them, but you can't really see most of them being happy with being depth players.

Actually has Copley re-signed with us?

Interesting that he's mentioned being a winger here.

It is. He doesn't mention speed, so I assume that won't be an issue, and apparently he can still jump well too...

He's certainly sucking up to Hook, saying he's going to bulk up a bit.:001_rolleyes:

I hope he destroys it in the a back three of hoffy, barba, and yow yeh would be amazing add centers of hodges/copely and reed and we'll be scoring points with ease
