Josh McGuire signs with Cowboys - Immediate Switch

I've seen Patty play a lot, and I still think he is our best young front row forward coming through. He is just a pure footballer, he will go right to the top. I'd have put him in front of Haas quite honestly. He just doesn't have the media hype around him Haas does.
Haas has played nrl

Didn't mean whitchurch wouldn't be a good player but we all know how that went when he did play NRL
You've got your analogy backwards. In fact, Whitchurch was the example I was going to give you. If Haas is better than Carrigan because he's played 30 minutes more NRL, Whitchurch must be WAY better than Haas.

We are becoming the tigers
Letting go of established stars because we are being held to ransom by younger players who haven’t proved shit at the club or at nrl level

Mitch I understand your frustrations and concerns but your looking at this completely wrong. We are not being held to ransom by the younger players. We are paying them enough to keep the circling vultures away from stealing them.

Payne Haas for example only got that big contract because we have as a club identified him as a must keep player of the future, especially if the interchanges reduce further to 6, this guy will be worth his weight in gold. So to try and lock him in we would have had to sign him to reasonable money and a long term contract just so that other clubs didn’t line up with both of their kidneys in hand to steal him once he starts playing consistent first grade. It’s not like Payne has come out and bent us over a table and said I want big money or I’m leaving. We would have known how many clubs had their eye on him and we would have jumped in early with a decent offer so that he isn’t tempted to do a TPJ and sign year by year to test his max worth in the player market.

If NQ Cowboys had of shown this initiative 2 years ago they’d still have Kalyn Ponga so look at how that worked out for them! Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t but in this day and age, you have to be on the front foot when it comes to future stars who most good judges of talent can see what certain players will become.

From where I'm sitting, Green is a hell of much better option than some no name guy with one year experience. Moose won't be the last player to escape the joint in the coming year.

Is this the same Paul Green that led a roster containing the likes of Johnathan Thurston, Jason Taumololo, Jordan McClean, Michael Morgan, Kyle Feldt, Matt Scott, Gavin Cooper, Coen Hess and Jake Granville, to a 33.33% win rate to finish at a spectacular 13th position on the 2018 NRL ladder?

He couldn’t even motivate his star studded line up to put in for Thurston’s farewell season and always used excuses after excuses like much of his tenure up there so far. If he hadn’t of won the 2015 GF on the siren, I bet after this season there would have been calls for his sacking guaranteed.

It’s exactly what the tigers did with woods Tedesco brooks and Moses and how did that work out for them? We are paying these kids way overs based off a few games against kids in their own age group. We just moved on the current Australian lock, not a shit kicker to accomodate these younger players. Why the **** are we entering a rebuild now when blind Freddy can see we are one player away from a premiership - a halfback

Not the same at all, we have resigned more players than the Tigers and planning on more. What the Tigers did was pay overs for three players and undercut the rest of their side. Our backline is is set and our forwards have been borderline for years. We are paying to keep a forward pack that could be the best in the comp. Also Oats needs to stay. I would be mire upset over losing him than Moose and i am not happy we lost Moose but i can see the need.

Difference is those 3 players were also arguably the Tigers best 3 players and 2 of them were in key positions in their spine. The 3 players you refer to in question would be akin to us letting go of let’s say a Milford (Moses), Boyd (Tedesco) and a Lodge/Ofahengaue (Woods)

What I will agree with you on though is if the Alex Glenn to Titans effective immediately is true and we lose him on top of McGuire for 2019 with no suitable replacements or if we are using both of their contracts to prop up what we currently have then I would be more concerned. However I’m starting to think Seibold has told White what team he wants and what his intentions are and we are getting in early to make the transition quickly.

If Alex Glenn leaves to the Titans effective immediately and then we start hearing rumours Macca is being shopped around you can bet your bottom dollar Seibold is behind it and that he is putting things in place to keep the best of the crop we have as well as add in some new additions of his own. I’m getting a little bit anxious and excited all at once because there is no way we let Glenn leave for 2019 on top of McGuire without a decent replacement in mind. Cam Murray to Brisbane maybe?
