Justin Hodges

What happened to his so called return against the Eels?

My spies tell me it's 50-50.

He'll either play.
Or he won't.

That help? :P

Surely it would be off the bench if he did? And where do you put him when he does start in finals? Surely as good as Hodgo is would you move Folau from where he has got all his tries this year? (In Hodgos position)

Hodges has played most of his career out of position. He clearly was at his best when playing fullback. To even be talked about as being a great player is a credit to how good he is as a centre. Ironically if he hadn't of left the Broncos to chase a fullback position he probably would have got the position when Lockyer moved to 5/8.

If I recall correctly he had no urgency getting to the ball. Whilst he was awesome on the kick return his positional play was average.

Jarryd Hayne-like positional play.

He was best at FB... really?

We are talking about the same Justin Hodges yes?

Well he played, what, 6 games there at the end of 2006 and the Broncos won a premiership. Ergo, it's his best position.

Fair theory yes. Shane Perry is a good halfback too.

Shaun Berrigan an awesome hooker.
Casey McGuire a great....Casey McGuire.

Coxy, don't go there.
Everyone knows the great Shaun Berrigan is a legend and easily the best hooker in the competition when he left.
After all he is the only hooker who get Smith benched for Australia! He also played the entire tri nations with equal game time to Smith, all this after only 12-15 games at hooker. No other hooker since or before that has managed to displace Smith once he got his spot.

Long live Berrigan he was soooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooooooooood in 06. He made Inglis his bitch in the grand final and was amazing in everything he did after moving to hooker.

More like his teeth couldn't handle his awesomeness so they had to leave him.

[icon_lol1. Nice one.

No, Berrigan was the most tenacious and versatile player I've ever seen. He excelled in every position he played to the point I think he played rep footy as a starting centre, five-eighth and hooker, as well as off the bench.

Great hooker? No. Best in the game when he left? No. But a damn fine player.

Yeah I can accept that, longevity and consistentcy are key factors and Smith has been the best for a very long time now.

IMO Berrigan is one of the best utilities to have played the game and certainly for the Broncos. He was one of the better centres in the game, at his best he was unbreakable in defence, managed to nail it at hooker and managed to play an entire origin series at 5/8, 7, centre and off the bench. I was devastated when Berro left us in 07 he was that sort of player who was an example of courage and determination. As a fan you couldn't help but admire Berrigan.
