Look either way I'm definitely not saying Kevvie is in the same league as Robinson, i just think he's getting to harshly judged from last year.
Would've loved to see a Bellamy or Robinson take up a similar challenge.
Trent took the roosters from 11th (2011) and 13th (2012) and had them win the minor premier and GF in his first season of NRL coaching in 2013.

He took Catalans from the spoon (Kev’s final season) to 6th and 4th respectively.

Any coaches around at present with a record like this?

What's Adrian Lam's record?

2013? Sonny bill’s fairy tale season?

Seibold also took Souths from 12th to 3rd, it can’t all be coaching obviously.

like i said I'm not likening him to Robinson so you can get over comparing the two.

74% win rate in Super league
60% for Tonga
same deal gifted a genuine contender of a team , Holbrook probably deserves most of the credit. 1910 did mention he burnt some bridges at the Broncos.

Not to take away from Robinson’s coaching as he has proven himself many a time since but it’s worth noting that in 2013 the Roosters signed SBW, James Maloney and Michael Jennings and were heavily favoured to make top 4 minimum with that squad after those 3 big name signings.

throw in Mini , RTS ,Tupou , Pearce, JWH , Freind , Cordner, O'Donnell and then SKD , Moa , Nuuaslala , Liu , Napa , Guerra , Aubusson and then some depth in Moga (pre ACL's ) , mortimer , Kennedy, Oldfield, Evens.
not bad team to walk into.

Mini was the one who got the team into different diets and trainings he speaks about it on Denan Kemp's podcast.
It's a lot easier to walk in and coach a team with that many origin, international and senior players and carry on the same routines throughout the years once they retire.

He turned them around massively twice- they came last in 09 and he came in as defensive coach for 10- made the GF.

Yeah Trent is really special, and to think he was only 35 when he won the gf with the chooks in 2013. Only 3 years older than captain Mini.

currently 44 years old
9 years as NRL head coach.
3 premierships (included going back to back)
4 minor prem

No doubt he can coach, credit where it’s due. He also has quite a few advantages other coaches don’t.

If he got parachuted into some of the atrocious Bulldogs, Tigers, Cowboys, Knights or Broncos teams of the last decade; would he have had the success he’s had?

The argument could also be made, as is it has been made with Bennett at the Broncos (fairly too); he really should have had more success with the cattle he’s had and the powerhouse club he has giving him every fair (and unfair) advantage.

lol come on. I’m not denying the roosters roster is far superior than most but he’s brought success everywhere he goes and he has displayed his ability many times.

Of course he wouldn’t have had the success he’s had if he was dropped into one of those basket case clubs but he’d be a far improvement on any of their other coaching appointments.

Implying he should’ve had even more success is hilarious. More success than winning a prem on average every 3 years? Or winning the minor almost every second season?

We all hate the roosters but let’s be sensible.
