Matty John's new program on Ch 7

I think you mean you can't. I agree, 7.30 a lot more people are awake than a 2 hour 9.30 show which finishes close to midnight.

Still though that's another 600k people who are exposed to rugby league, it's only a good thing for the game.
What is controversy corner btw?

This weeks was Mason being "Grilled" about his career alot of harsh truths got thrown at him.

Don't forget that plenty of the 600k people might have watched the show thinking "what will this be?" and they also piggy backed Home and Away.

The real ratings for the show will come into how many of that 600k they can bring back to watch the show in the coming weeks. I reckon unless they tweak the format the figures will drop to atleast 400k or lower in the next few weeks.

I think Mason handled it well. He probably wanted to deck Paul Kent. [icon_lol1.

Is The Matty Johns show filmed in Sydney?

Edit: Yes it is!

I quite like it. I could do without Alby Sandals, but involving league players in certain segments is only a good thing imo. Of course Webcke is on it as well, what a man.

I watched it, it was average, I don't know if I would go out of my way to keep watching it.

I caught it last week. Thought the football discussion sections weren't too bad, but for mine too much "variety show" to make me want to watch it regularly

Albie Sandals is a dumb and boring character.. Don Kurke has his moments IMO I say more footy talk and the show could be a winner. If Matty were to bring back the Anti-ad that would be a winner.

Anti-ads were the best. No idea why they've scrapped them.

Because they were good when they first started doing them but like everything else on the footy show they went too far and got ridiculous

They were great........in 1999.[/quote:1qxbzkse]

That's what i meant, they've done about five more since then.

I think there may have been some legal issues with some of the anti-ads which is why they slowed down. The ones from the late 90's were often quite hilarious though.

Random question re the Footy Show: Does anyone know what the big dispute Fatty and Sterlo had with Blocker was about back in the day? I don't think I ever found out properly.

I heard it was because Blocker didn't want to wear a dress or something for a skit. No idea if there's any truth to that, but that's what i heard!

I don't ever remember Blocker being on the Footy Show - he must of got dumped while we still had our own far superior Qld based Footy Show :-)
