I don't ever remember Blocker being on the Footy Show - he must of got dumped while we still had our own far superior Qld based Footy Show :-)

It used to be Fatty, Sterlo, Blocker and Ray Hadley

Who was on the QLD version?

Billy J Smith, Gary Belcher, Kevvie Walters were the main panel (Chris Bombalas took over from Billy J Smith as the main host after a year or 2). They didn't really do any of the skit/variety type stuff. They had a street beat segment, but apart from that it was pretty much all the panel and special guests discussing football for the whole hour. That's what I liked about it - it really was a show all about footy.

NRL on Fox > every other rugby league show on the air that isn't a game itself.

Pretty sure Blocker left because Fatty and Sterlo were on more money than him and he didn't like it.

Nah Blocker got fired by 9 for decking someone at a function, if I recall correctly.

We're not talking about why he got fired Gymp, we're talking about a dispute!

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

I also remember the Qld version and totally agree it was far superior to the national (read sydneycentric) version. It basically was the same as todays NRL on Fox (fine show) but was axed when nine went on a cost cutting exercise. They were producing 2 shows with essentially the same end goal, that is a football based show. I was as sick as a pig when they cut it out as I thought the nsw version was a poor substitute.

Another thing which did'nt help was the perception that the show was Bronco friendly, an assertion not without some substance. I still miss it.
