McGuire going to the market

I dont really care if he plays for Qld or NZ, infact if he plays for NZ we'd have him during origin so that'd be a blessing anyway.

But I'd be quite pissed off if he left us, not at him but at management. It's clear McGuire has been developing well for some time now, why wait this long before attempting to tie him down (unless they have in the past and he's rebuffed their advances).

Hannant and McGuire make such an effective front row as we will see when we bash the Raiders. Sigh

I've always felt front rowers, along with wingers, are the easiest to replace.

If McGuire leaves, we will just find someone else that can do his job.

While I absolutely respect your right to your opinion you must be kidding !!!!!
I'm guessing your not though because there was no wink attached ! Years ago Wayne Bennett decided he wanted to win a premiership and with that in mind he thought which player could deliver that to him. He contacted a front rower, not for his opinion but to make him an offer he couldn't refuse. He contacted Glen Lazarus, without doubt the greatest prop of the post Beetson era.

The easiest position to fill on the park is centre, the competition is littered with them in the lower grades. One of the hardest positions to fill is prop. Sure it can be filled with useless meatheads and even small useless meatheads but if you want a quality prop they are few and far between and as demonstrated by the price paid for the useless Kennedy, expensive !

Your use of font size is fantastic. I love the variety used

i can't believe hannant hasn't been re-signed yet. makes a lot of metres and tackles hard, ex rep player who could easily still mix it in origin. let him see out his career at red hill ffs.

He also passes the ball. He and Thaiday are absolutely key players in attack that uses the ball to overcome the lack of sheer grunt up front. With Barba getting back to some sort of form, and with Hunt evolving nicely, we can have such a dangerous attack, especially with players like McGuire helping to hold and control the middle

Passing the ball, what a novelty

Hope Mcguire stays he is like our own version of Paul Gallen and will only get better.

The only thing McGuire needs to do is offload more. McGuire 1 offload in 11 games, Gallen 12 offloads in 5 games. If McGuire had those offloads, I can only imagine how much more we might achieve in attack, especially with Hannant and Thaiday passing so well.

Also Gillett 12 offloads and Parker 33. That's where McGuire needs to lift IMO.

(And on the question of offloads, Glenn has 1 as well. Our left side needs much more quality ball)

McGuire's job isn't to offload IMO. He's low to the ground and is better suited to cannonballing, getting to ground quick and earning fast PTB's. his runs are normally early, the hard stuff against set defence, where offloads are less useful as second phase is easily swatted.
