Maybe the board saw the writing on the wall with Briers and Cartwright leaving and decided it was time for a new good team .

The entire coaching staff, including Boyd, gave notice, and Kevvie was fronting press conferences saying the players were doing their own thing.

Everyone acknowledged the team he coached made the grand final - the only finals run in four years. But moving on from that, insiders had lost faith in him. Whether or not he was responsible for the team making the GF, he got plenty of credit for it. 2024, however, ended exactly like 2022, and 2021 was a gimme.
