I wonder if any Queenslanders will turn up if it's an all Sydney affair. The general interest in the Grand Final and the finals series here in QLD really dies of when all the Queensland teams are out.
Yes, because NSW'kers were super interested in last year's GF...

Suncorp Stadium will sell out twice over easily, with Qld'ers and all the NSW'kers living here.

You can't really compare the hype around watching it on TV to the possibility of actually attending. It's simple really, the GF has never been held in QLD. It wouldn't matter who was playing, it would sell out almost immediately.

Quite a few Sydney teams have a very large supporter base up here.

And it would be the Grand Final at the best Rugby League stadium in the world. It would still sell out.

I'd buy tickets as soon as they came out, but unlike most southerners I wouldn't sell them just because my team didn't make the cut.

There was a story in this mornings' CM that I can't find online. Apparently Suncorp Stadium is being seriously considered to hold the 2018 and 2019 grand final.

yes it is because of the NSW stadium deal ... meaning that ANZ wouldn't be ready to host a GF during the re-development

They're also pretty cunning because they've put Melbourne in the frame too so a bidding war is on the cards and the government will have to pay a lot more.

Do you think they'd seriously go to Melbourne? It's not too bad for Origin (although I'm not really a fan of it), but surely not the GF.
They'd also have to fit in with the AFL finals somehow.

I wouldn't mind a 3 year rotation, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne.

why is Matt Moylan trying to laugh like Johnathan Thurston?

that's just weird

According to Josh Massoud just then on 7 News, Eels are going to be deducted 8 competition points.

Ouch, that's finals gone almost certainly...

Wow, for this year or starting from next? That's going to just about kill their top 8 chances.

Judging by last year, they're still a chance, but they'd need to be top 2-ish to make it.

Time to start planning mad Monday, much easier to plan when you know the date.

I guess we'll wait and see the scope to which they've "cheated".
