NRL Player Movements and Rumours 2015

Considering how they're going in the NSW Cup, I wonder what Wentworthville make of these signings?

Saw on the Cowboys Pride FB page that they're in talks with Teo. I have no experience with the credibility of that page.

Te Maire Martin --> Panthers for 3 years. I wonder if they're planing on moving Peter Wallace on sooner rather than later.

Could be onto something. Ideally, Martin is more of a five eighth in the Anthony Milford mould but with Wallace coming off contract in 2016, Soward 2017 you'd have to think ol' Pete maybe the player to miss out.

It's a good signing for the Panthers. They've got their halves settled for now but they can get Martin used to their systems, develop him how they want to and bring him in fresh for 2017 looking to kill it.

Wish more clubs took that approach with their juniors.

Yeah Rothfield tweeted it several hours ago.

Rothfield reporting Parramatta fans have started a fire at nearby Cumberland Oval Grand Stand, stand by for more information as it comes to hand.

Why is my first reaction to laugh maniacally???

Apparently Eels are willing to grant Sandow an immediate release to join Warrington in the UK before the cut off date, but only if they don't have to pay out the final year of his contract.

He was reportedly offered 50k to leave the club.

I remember when he was regarded as the next Alfie Langer by some people. What a waste. He has all the skills you would want in a half. Just lacks everything else you need to be successful in the NRL...

Watching the Eels play last weekend was like watching...well Eels play. It was greasy, slippery and they were passing to players who weren't there. How about Norman's bullet pass into the fifth row of the stands?

Can't blame him too heavily. It's the first time he passed a ball since the Under 20s.

Why do the Eels only have to pay out a portion of his contract when every other club has to pay everything when they release a player early?

Good question

I don't think the $50k on offer is a portion of his contract, I think it's a "settlement" of sorts for the $200k he is owed in 3rd party arrangements. The $50k will likely have to be included in their cap, but even with their problems it's better to write that off and get rid of him than continue to pay him until the end of the year. If whatever ESL club ends up taking on his full contract value, I assume that the Eels do not have to pay a cent to him from the day he leaves, meaning that $50k is probably a saving.

Pretty much. He has 2 options, take up the SL offer and get 50K or stay, get full pay and play reserves until the end of his contract. By which time, the SL deal may be gone.
