NRL Players and family members in hot water

David Williams the player involved in the betting scandal. Not sure if he's the star set to be banned for six weeks though.

He'll be the scape goat for sure. Oh well someone has to take the fall and he's injured anyway, perfect!

That sure was a storm in a teacup. Good job News Ltd. Fuckwits.

And that reporter on twitter, "ooh I don't want to be known as the guy who broke this story". Nobody's going to remember this story in 2 months time.

Well they can't blame Ryan Tandy any more.

It's hypocritical of the NRL that they accept millions of dollars in revenue from betting agencies. Each game they splash odds on screen
on all matches at every opportunity in front of viewers.

Betting on games etc by players has been happening since League started. So it's nothing new.

The rule is also not a new one. So if they do do it, they run the risk.

All sports accept money from betting agency's ... All sports also have a rule strictly prohibiting betting on the sport you play, whether the bet is $1 or $10,000.

These players know the rules, it is their own choice to break them, so they will need to face the consequences of that.

And if they aren't even smart enough to place the bets in someone else's name, then they deserve to be caught.

Definitely stupid on the players part, and I agree with the (assumed) actions being taken against them. It's hardly a scandal though.

True but that's the media for you ... The NRL will have no options but to take action against any player betting on league games.

I certainly hope for the NRLs sake that they aren't delaying acting on these betting suspensions because one of more of the guilty players are playing in tonights origin match.

Because if the NRL were worried about their image before this problem, then their image will be completely destroyed, should they allow players they know full well will be suspended tomorrow, to play.

With yet another NRL player getting done for domestic violence was hoping some BHQ members would get on board with a zero tolerance campaign, email, tweet, facebook em even their sponsors #zerotolerance for violence against women. Too many of the germs are getting away with it.

I'm game, and I'm sure my fellow staff members will support such a stance from BHQ as a whole on Twitter and Facebook.

I'm definitely on board that idea.

Yeah, for all the (deserved) flak guys like Carney and Ferguson get, it's nothing compared to what someone like Robert Lui did, and no one seems to care about that one as much as the formers general stupidity.

I wondered that too but I think he means Auva'a.

@peterp79: Big news in the NRL with Kirisome Auva’a suspended from the game indefinitely. He'll miss the first 22 rounds of 2015

That's not big news.

The big news will be when Dave Smith allows him to play again, because he's a weak POS.

Still confused as to why he could play out 2014 after already pleading guilty. Didn't Souffs cover up another incident in the last few years?
