NRL Players and family members in hot water

Unless they win the comp, I don't see how it could be claimed they have tried to cheat.
It was in jest!!! ...so youre saying they need to win a comp before any claims of cheating?
So its ok to use the shit against your opponents but just dont win the comp!!! Ok then

Yeah I got that one mate, did you?

Latest on the Sailor thing.

Prosecution allege he drugged her with a sleeping pill and sexually assaulted her. Toxicology found a sedative in her system and physical evidence that could suggest assault.

His defence argue that sex was consensual and Tristan didn’t do anything wrong and that he didn’t drug her

He exchanged texts the following day with the (alleged) victim and she says she didn’t remember anything after the Uber back to her place. Tristan says they played drinking games and that he asked both her (and her friend) for consent and admits they had sex.

Amongst other things, his defence produced affidavits from various people including Mary McGregor .... one Darren Lockyer
He said, she said. Again.

Excuse me while my head explodes.

She has injuries consistent with sexual assault.
Those types of injuries don't usually happen with consent.
Also, who plays drinking games and takes a sleeping pill.

Dudes a predator in my opinion (just my opinion) .
He is in a world of shit if he is found guilty as the drugging is premeditated and will see him get a maximum sentence.
Where did you get the information re the injuries being consistent with sexual assault? What are the injuries alleged to be? My understanding is that it is not alleged that the intercourse was forced, but that it was non-consensual because the victim did not have the capacity to consent.

Going to be much more complicated that what you are portraying. Unless they have a witness who saw him placing the drug in her drink, or one of his mates rolls on him that he told them he did it, or that he had the drug, how can they prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he spiked her drink as opposed to some random at the club/pub?

If the jury accepts that it is not satisfied of that element, then Sailor does not know that she is under the influence of drugs and that will make their case regarding a lack of consent that much harder to establish beyond reasonable doubt.

Not giving an opinion on any of the events or allegations, just an observation; I know a lot of people who get allergic reactions to drinking, or “asian flush” (as asians commonly have a reaction to alcohol that causes their faces to become red) who take antihistamines before drinking as they believe it helps minimise the symptoms.

I’ve done it myself on occasions.

Edit: I’ve seen it reported that the drug was an over the counter antihistamine that can cause drowsiness/have a sedative effect when mixed with alcohol.

Police prosecutor Shannon Ryan told the court the alleged victim was given a sedative without her knowledge before the incident, meaning she was incapable of giving consent.

The alleged victim admitted to drinking alcohol, but denied taking the sleeping drug.

Sergeant Ryan said given seriousness of the charged and the forensic evidence that confirms the injuries sustained were consistent with the allegations, bail should be denied.
If a cop is suggesting a denial of bail based on injuries, its pretty obvious its serious.

I mean, you can easily do a quick google search for this info yourself, but i put it all here so its easier for you.

As i said, the injuries are apparently consistent with sexual assault, and unless you are hung like a porn star and into really rough sex, not the type of injuries you typically see in a consenting encounter. It is why they use rape kits at the hospital after an allegation of sexual assault, to determine if the injuries are consistent with assault.

Sailors in trouble.

You know a lot of people who get an allergic reaction to booze, so they take antihistamines to prevent that? I am 41 years old, ive met a total of 2 people in my entire life that have an allergy to alcohol and only one of them took anything for it, and that was after they drank.

Also i highly doubt its common for women in particular to take a sedative before hitting the piss, that's stupid and asking for trouble.
I could be wrong, but surely this is not common practice?

All of the reports I read failed to mention anything about the injuries being consistent with a sexual assault.

Past experience tells me that there can be sometimes a variance (and a significant one) between what a police prosecutor submits is the strength and quality of the evidence in opposing a bail application and what it actually is in reality.

I believe I will wait for things to play out prior to jumping to any conclusions about how the matter will pan out.

Definitely don’t want to look like I’m defending Sailor or denying the allegations. I am staying completely out of this until the facts come out. Just thought of this when I saw the drug type.

I am not a medical professional so maybe “allergic” isn’t the exact right term, or maybe it is, I honestly don’t know. But some people break out in a hot red rash when they drink, amongst other irritating side effects. If you want an exact explanation of what I’m talking about read the asian flush Wikipedia page.

Maybe I have he more exposure to people of asian heritage than you have. It’s extremely common amongst Asians. Wikipedia says the following:

Heat flush is common in East Asians, with approximately 30 to 50% of Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans showing characteristic physiological responses to drinking alcohol that includes facial flushing, nausea, headaches and a fast heart rate.[1][2][3][8]

Again, I’m no expert so I can’t vouch for the if there is any evidence that it works, but I can say anecdotally that antihistamines is commonly used to self medicate against this issue.

All of that is irrelevant though I guess because she is saying that she didn’t knowingly take it.

I wonder if its a genetic thing?
If i drink Crown Larger i get itchy face and armpits, but never bad enough to take an antihistamine for.

I sometimes take an antihistamine or 2 if I’m drinking red wine. I use phenergen, I have never lost time/blacked out while mixing it with alcohol.

it’s defiantly a genetic thing. Has something to do with the lack of a certain enzyme.
