On 13th September 2015 in Brough, East Yorkshire, my and
my mother's cars were badly damaged (and later written off), along with the destruction of our garden wall, by Australian Rugby League star Tim Smith, when he drove into them in his Audi A4.
Police arrived at the scene, and arrested Smith. He was later charged with failing to provide a sample for analysis and driving without due care and attention.
Smith appeared before Beverley Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty to the charges. He was banned from driving for two years and fined.
Fellow New Zealand Rugby star Kevin Locke was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash on a Sunday afternoon in our quiet residential area where we live.
Both Smith and Locke played for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats who terminated their contracts a week after the incident.
Tim Smith never had the decency to apologise to me or my mother for what happened. Part of our next door neighbour's wall was also destroyed.
This video was taken by my mother minutes after the crash and both Smith and Locke can be seen moments before the police arrived.
