Depends how it came about but most likely. Parra had to include flying FuiFuis family over from NZ in the cap

You're only half right, if they realise it's a lost cause trying to keep him then they'll chase compensation.

Let us not forget that Hannant asked for a release for the same reasons from the same club and he was released after we compensated them.

Steve Mortimer has now got his hand out asking for compensation ......Cookies must be enabled. | The Australian

Broncos should pay 'transfer fee' for Ben Barba, says Steve Mortimer

Cowboys, Titans, Reds, Force and Broncos have all said hello to O'Connor. No NSW clubs yet in either code.

From the CM ...

"However, any playmaking strain would be eased by the arrival of Bulldogs sensation Ben Barba, who is tipped to join the Broncos next season and could be a game-breaker in the No.6 jumper."

So heres a thought.

1. O'Connor
6. Barba
7. Hunt

Barba is a natural 2nd receiver. His best position is at fullback, unless we go completely away from the split halves attack...but then we'd have to rely on Hunt to actually deliver as a first receiver.

I'm convinced O'Connor would go well in the #1 just unsure about Barba in the #6. I guess if Barba doesn't fill in well we could slot O'Connor back up into the #6.

Barba would be fine in the 6 but why the hell would you want to stop his 100m kick returns by putting him there?

I did suggest way back in this thread that we could trial Barba at 6 in one of the trials but It would be ridiculous to move him from fullback as he has established himself as one of the best attacking players in the game from fullback. He would only be moved to the halves if we were in dire straights.

I can't see Barba not playing fullback if we do get him.

Ryan Phelan hyped it up before the ad break, but when they got back, it was just a quick quote from the new Doggies CEO Raelene Castle, who said the obvious - they'd like Barba stay.

The reporter doing the story then revealed that they were still in negotiations with Folau - so clearly Seven news has NFI what's going on, but we probably already knew that.
