[Official] - Milford signs with Broncos

I totally agree. I've seen no actual quotes from Josh other than his dad doesn't speak for him.

Besides all that; isn't this an Anthony Milford thread. I believe we have a seperate Hoffman thread
The two topics are related. Milford's early arrival could very well result in Hoffman being allowed to leave early too. Naturally, there's going to be some crossing between the two subjects.

And there has been word from Hoffman, his manager who speaks for him has had a say.

My thoughts on the matter is if Hoffman wants a release, just give him one, whether we have Milford for next year or not.

You're all jumping at shadows.

Which is why I posted the below....he's said nothing so far. Although I was told his manager requested a release. Not sure how reliable the source is though....Magic is an odd character, Alec to confirm.

Which is what I'm waiting for personally.....what will he say? Will he demand the FB position, will he say give me a pay rise and I'll run the water for you or will he say I just wanna be a Bronco. Time will tell.

If this is actually about money, would people be in favour of giving him a pay rise? As a winger/centre obviously.

In the same way Ayoub speaks for Milford by saying he will be at the raiders next year when Anthony says no?

Someone should link the greenhouse to the last three pages and show them how a reasonable forum should act

show Ricky and furner while you are at it

Fair point, there was some clear miscommunication there. However, without sounding like a broken record, Hoffman's manager is his authorised representative, anything he says is as good as Hoffman saying it. If he acted against the wishes of his client he'd be out the door that very same day. Now time can very well change things, Hoffman may have had a change of heart now but he's hardly come out to deny anything like Corey Parker does when ever there's a rumour about him.

All quiet in the Milford camp. Ayoubs hasty call after Milford spoke his mind has taken the wind out of the spectacle

Re: "Hoffy isn't the guy for Fullback" - Hodges

I have every confidence that Milford will be at the Broncos next season - I reckon by mid January at the latest the NRL will step in if Canberra does not release him by then especially if Milford continues to say he will not be returning to Canberra and if this is the case then Milford will solve out 5/8th problem - Barba will be fullback and Hoffman will play on the wing outside Reed or he will be playing with the Redcliffe Dolphins or we have sold him to Canberra as a swap or got serious money for him from the bulldogs.

The NRL wont step in in this matter ... it will be left to Milford and the Raiders to sort out (even if it means going to court). The NRL will likely offer to mediate the parties, but no way they force the Raiders to release a player, especially if the clause in question favors the Raiders (I don't know if it does, since i haven't seen it)

I don't think Milford will be here until 2015, Canberra will not release him.

Part of the problem at the GH is the total censure. No other opinions are tolerated, and that GE dickhead prances about banning anything that remotely smells like the Broncos, because god forbid a sane discussion could arise!
If some sense is indeed crawling back in there, GE's mum probably cut his internet...

I'm glad we give Raiders fans the chance to present their point of view here, as far fetched as it may look through our maroon coloured glasses. It's refreshing and makes us reflect on the merit of their claims, regardless of whether they are absurd or not.

Honestly, I understand why the Raiders are doing what they are doing. I understand why Raiders fans are blowing up. But they are taking it out on the wrong kid, because they have been burned by Carney, Dugan and Fergo, while the NRL stood by watching (okay, not in Carney's case).
Milford wants to go home, is homesick, wants to be with his family and has a clause that at the very least indicates this is not something new, or that the Broncos incited him to break contract.
They had no qualms taking Sticky for the same reason, but hey, that's ok cuz his clause was better worded!

On the Hoffman case, although there is a thread for that... sincerely if he is unhappy, make a deal with the Dogs. I don't think that not getting the spot you want in the team is reason to break contract, but I honestly rather have Maranta bombing tries than a poisonous w(h)inger in the sheds, just because he isn't man enough to knuckle down and claim the fullback spot the only way he should: Proving he is better than the rest!

Besides, it suits the Broncos to have a weak link in a team coached by Dessie...

Damn Porthoz, I'm starting to get a man crush! That is the most eloquently I have seen it written.

IMO </thread>
Yay, my first man crush! (I'm not counting Nashy's hard-on for me)

Can you imagine how hard it would be for Anthony to be at the raiders next year with everything that's past. Animosity from fans and management , resentment from the playing group. Geez, if the kid was unhappy there last year. I can understand the raiders management wanting to wear their big boy pants, but I think it's in THEIR best interests to release him, negotiate a fee or whatever. Same as we should with Hoff.

The NRL will not do that ever. If they did that they'd have 30 players there the next day saying I want my contract cancelled too I want to move. NRL have registered the contract when he signed it so they've got no issue with it.

NRL can't just come in and cancel a legally binding deal and take a player off a club.

If anything is to be worked out next year Raiders will need to release him.

I only argued that point last night on The GH.. Personally I have enjoyed the discussion I have had on here and I see many of your points of view.. Both sides have their stories, media and propaganda and both sides believe their versions. It's how the world works.

I am a realist and believe I see the situation for what it is. To be honest, I have personally become less concerned of the outcome (as we know what that is) and more concerned about the timeline in which it happens. Hopefully sooner than later for the benefit of both clubs. Let's just get on with it and get back into footy.
