Our chances of making the eight

I'm totally with you on the big fines [MENTION=2221]Porthoz[/MENTION], I just don't think stripping points 2 years down the track is fair on the majority of current players who weren't involved. Throw the book at them financially though, they've got sponsors sorted out now so they should be good for it :winky:

Guaranteed anything to do with Manly won't come out for a while...I expect them to be in the last 4 standing, even in the GF, and I can't see anything being made public before their season is over...
 
Raiders losing helped, but Newcastle winning did us no favours.
 
We really need the Worriers to lose now. If they somehow beat Manly, we are pretty much completely out of it.
 
I wonder how the Raiders will cope without Campese for a few key games at least. Maybe Milford into the halves and Ferguson to FB

Anyway, the Knights win showed me our form atm is not that bad, and with Hunt hopefully improving with each game, and again hopefully without Maranta, there a slim chance
 
If the knights lose at least one game in addition to the one against this I think we are almost definite. Unless Canberra start playing like the best team in the comp.
 
We need to do a number on the dragons first. Getting a bit sick of thaiday saying we'll give finals a shake. Times running out for us to deliver our A game
 
Of the teams between 7-12 we easily have the best run home. 4 games at home & next three games against bottom three sides and a failing Panthers. Win those, and we have a Lot of momentum heading into Knights & Bulldogs at home. Although I have a funny feeling we're going to get our hopes up with a big win against Dragons only to have our season ended by the Eels. I hope I'm wrong though (about the Eels).
 
I couldn't care less about us making finals this year. For me I want to see us play good footy and see players improve in the view of having a big 2014. We could have made the 8 but dropping games against Eels, Warriors and Knights when we had them won was always going to come back to hurt us. We will be a more hungry and better team for missing the 8 next year.

They're a team that always seem to get us. Souths beat they're hoodoo against us this year, hopefully we do the same against Eels.

We never had he Eels game won. We were behind 10-0 early and never lead at any stage.

Knights need to lose 3 games, because their P/D is over 100 points better than ours. There are only 4 games left for them too.

Fantastic post, Bucking Beads. I've never really understood the mindset of missing the eight altogether is considered a poor performance but scraping into the finals and being obliterated in week one gets a pass. Strange. Definitely agree with the three games you mentioned. If we win those we are probably well in the eight, possibly pushing for 5th or 6th.

Yep. And on that performance ... that was one of the most idiotic game plans I have seen this year.

Hoffman is not a FB. This must be repeated over and over. He adds 0 from the back.
