Our chances of making the eight

The toughest part will be for the Broncos to win all games, but we have by far the easiest draw to the finals.
If and only IF we win all games left, it will depend on how well the Warriors go.
If they beat Canberra at home and the Tits at Skilled park, we'll be 8th. If they loose one of those, we'll beat them for 7th spot.

The Cows could play a big part too, ironically helping us into the finals if they beat the Tits and Knights in Townsville.

1) Canberra needs to lose at least 3 more games. YES--> @Roosters, Bulldogs, Manly, @Warriors
2) Newcastle needs to lose at least 3 more games. YES --> @Sharks, Storm, @Cowboys, @Broncs
3) Gold Coast need to lose at least 2 more games. YES--> @Bulldogs, @Cowboys, @Roosters, @Storm
4) Warriors need to lose at least 2 more games. Maybe--> @Manly, @Titans???
5) Panthers need to lose at least 1 more game. YES--> @Warriors, Broncos, @Bulldogs, @Manly

Despite the draw in Newcastle, we will make the finals if we win the remaining 5 games, it's as simple as that.

We'll win every game from now on except maybe the Knights, but at home, we might just make it through, Panthers will be a tough game, Dogs have a bad history in Round 26 games so we might get them too, as long as we're healthy, if not, kickback, and support Storms, they're the only Queenslanders we've got this year.

The part I like about this weekend is knowing that the two misters , Mister Wright and Mr Fourex will be cheering for the SHARKS ! of course they will also be supporting the Sea Eagles, Roosters ,Bulldogs and Cowboys I hope.

No point worrying about what other teams do. All the Broncos need to do is keep improving, and keep winning.

It goes without saying a win is a necessity on Sunday, but IMO it also needs to be a handsome win. If we can't get comfortable wins against the Dragons and Eels in the next 2 weeks then there's absolutely no hope against Knights or Bulldogs.

if we make the finals, we would have won 5 games on the trot. at that point antyhing is possible. since 8th now plays 5th in week 1, i'd be feeling pretty confident.

At this point I'd say there is >80% chance that the raiders lose contact with the eight. If they do (I'm not sure of warriors run home) it will be 50/50 with us and the warriors with the one point being the difference. If we beat the knights in our next game I also give them a 50\50 at losing contact. Assuming then that we beat penrith I give us 80% of bearing them to the eight. Although it's unlikely if the sharks get stripped of points I give us 95% chance of getting in the eight.

Sharks should not get stripped of points IMO. Over something that happened 2 years ago? Why penalise current players who weren't even in the side back then? Just wrong IMO.

Unless you strip points from ALL teams involved - Manly as well, etc etc - hey, we can make the 8 comfortably!!

They cheated the system and even if they didn't really profit from it, they may have cost other clubs. As such, some form of relevant punishment is warranted for Sharks and/or any other club that may be found guilty.

The only relevant punishment for a footy club, is a very large financial fine or the docking of points.

Surprisingly I agree Porthoz , some punishment is warranted. However,not in any universe would it be fair to punish players who had nothing whatsoever to do with the offence if in fact there was one. By all means a big fine and a public condemnation of any guilty parties. I will wager no points will be deducted if an offence is proven. What I would like to see is players from the years before drug testing placed under oath to tell all about the rampant use of steroids and the premierships stripped from the clubs of the eighties and nineties who used them. I believe all clubs had players using steroids so I question the legitimacy of the premierships of those years.

And yet you will wishing them every success ! Oh, have they been charged with something, or are they condemned by innuendo ? Where is your indignation about the steroid clubs of the previous years ?

Couldn't give a stuff about the Sharks tbh, I'm interested to see what happens with Manly. There have been a large number of rumours about them and if they turned out to be true, i'd imagine their latest premiership would be stripped. All rumour, alleged etc....
