Our chances of making the eight

If Penriff lose tonight and Tits tomorrow and we smash the Eels, the door to the top 8 is open. Even if we make it though, we're a dead stick without Hodgeo.

Smash the Eels? The Eels with Hayne and us with Hodges out? And based on that appalling slug fest against the drag queens?

Doubt it. More like the other way around.

I am so sick of the one-out x 4 then kick core strategy. Sick of it

I just don't want the raiders to make the 8, I nonplussed if we do or don't anymore

Yep. And on that performance ... that was one of the most idiotic game plans I have seen this year.

Hoffman is not a FB. This must be repeated over and over. He adds 0 from the back.

0

Are you fucking serious?!? Dead set

Dead set. He is safe, he runs the ball back hard.

That's it. Thing is, he is all we have. When we are desperate for ball players, he just doesn't cut it. He is a centre or better, winger.

As for the rest of the team's performance today, how many times did our forwards bend/break the Dragoons line? How many metres did our props make?

The only one out there with any nous is Hunt and he is still uneven.

There's more to a fullback's job then just attack and his defused a hell of a lot of situations in the last 3 games that could have paid off for the opposition, ones that someone like Norman(who might I add wasn't even offering anything attacking wise for us for quite a while anyway) wouldn't have even bothered because it might have involved a bit of putting your body on the line or showing a bit of heart or reading the opposition, that in itself is a great contribution to the side.

The point is this side lacks the ability to score points through quality defence

How many sweeping 2nd man plays were there today?

The exception is when Hunt shows spark and vision and has support, as in the great try he and Reed set up for Gillett.

Once

All match

Don't waste your time trying to reason GC

OK. Let's hear your game plan and logic for the next 4 victories. I'm keen to hear it.

The issue is scoring points. I am not questioning Hoffman's defence

Haha you have been holding onto that for a while

If what you saying was true than I would agree. For the past season basically the game plan that you described had been happening and I agree that it is shit. To me that didnt happen today. They were passing to forwards in motion, ball movement and our forwards dented the line plenty of times.

As for Hoffman yes he is not a great ball player and IMO is not our future at fb, probably why the club is doing everything it can to sign barba and/or Milford. But his positioning and defence has saved us time and time again and he is currently our best option, so why the hell are you whinging

it's all bittersweet now. even if we won the premiership this year (act of god of god), it wouldn't be right without hodgo being there. he's carried us for a couple of years now and won origin for us too this year.

I think it's the same plan for the rest of the year, it's too late to change now.

I actually think Hook had this plan to compensate for Wallace's/Prince's lack of speed/vision/creativity/whatever. You can argue that Hunt should have been there all year, but that's the way it is for the rest of this year.

Why do you say I am whinging?

Yes, our forwards passed the ball. Yes, there a few instances of support play.

Result? We beat the 2nd weakest team in the comp by 2 points ... right on the bell.

I'm not whinging. I am sad and disappointed at the lack of adventure and creativity, with the exceptions I have mentioned + the try Gillett laid on for Drew.

I am not whinging. I am pissed off
