Our chances of making the eight

I think tomorrow night is absolutely decisive. It's the toughest match we have and if we win it, we'll have relatively easier games at home with Dragqueens and Parra, followed by Panthers away and if we finish at home with Knights and Dogs coming from 5 wins in a row and pretty high on confidence, we'll probably roll them too and go into the finals pretty hot (a la Parra 2009)...

Will still be tough to get through the finals from 5-8 spot, but if anything, it could be a nice build-up towards next season.

How i see the run home with my head instead of my heart.

Knights (a) - Win, Snowden and Mason are missing which loses a lot of muscle up front, plus we have a great record against Bennett coached teams
Dragons (h) - Win, keep Dugan in check and we will win
Eels (h) - Win, will be tough as Parra seem to play pretty well against us
Panthers (a) - Win, I think Penrith are starting to fall apart after a purple patch
Knights (h) - Win, they will smart after their defeat from tomorrow night
Bulldogs (h) - Loss, Barba and the desperation of the Bulldogs will be back

If that happens we will finish on 28 points and will scrape in on points difference.

Mate I hope your right but my ladder we needed 30 points to male the eight. Hopefully yours is right haha

Alright, I'm going to work on baiting Dugan on instagram leading up to next week. If the plan works he will abuse me, tell me to kill myself and get suspended for a week. That's the Dragons taken care of.

Such a simple yet beautiful plan.

With the added value that the Dragons might end up sacking him, and the Dogs get someone to replace Barba! :thumbup1:

'sif the Merge will suspend him.......they don't have the same set of moral standards as the rest of us. I think Dugan right now could take a piss on Peter Doust's carpet in his office and still get a free pass.

As I understand it, at least 4 out of 5 of these have to happen for us to make the 8. And that's if we don't lose another game.

1) Canberra needs to lose at least 3 more games.
2) Newcastle needs to lose at least 3 more games.
3) Gold Coast need to lose at least 2 more games.
4) Warriors need to lose at least 2 more games.
5) Panthers need to lose at least 1 more game.

I'd say 1 and 5 are fairly likely. Canberra have a tough draw, and Penrith is shit. The other 3 are a lot more worrying though.

Titans will lose >2...

But I think we're fucked :crying:

Like I said though, this is also assuming we actually win all of our remaining games. And we have another match vs the Knights and the Bulldogs coming up.

I did the same countdown and mathematical equations in 2010, it's not worth being let down.

Just be glad we wont have to witness a thrashing in a qualifying final again.

After the last few rounds it seems to me that there are really only 4 teams in this. Barring amazing things from the Bulldogs, these 4 teams have daylight and dust behind them. Interesting each of them have some stars and expansive games in all thirds of the park.

Roosters with SBW
Greg Inglis, sorry, Souths with GI
Manly with DCE and Foran
Storm with Slater, Cronk and Smith. 68 points v Raiders. Not bad in Canberra

Now I know these teams have progressed since we last played them, but I reckon we did ok overall. If Hunt continues to expand and extend his form, if McGuire and Hannant start some ball playing, Hodges bobbing up all over the place and Hoffman safe at the back and Oates learning from his mistakes on the wing, I believe we only have 1 major obstacle to having a genuine show of making the 8 and not getting thrashed in the qualifying final.

Well, maybe 2 obstacles.

Hmmmm, suddenly, my optimism has waned

1, 3, 4 and 5 all seem very likely, us winning every game is the real challenge.

Actually, I got it wrong. Newcastle needs to lose at least 2 more, because if we win all our remaining games, they'll already lose 1.

3 is very likely and bring Newcastle back to two as one of our wins would mean they lose. Penrith can get scrubbed as it's the same circumstances. We only need to beat Newcastle or Canberra and hope the other three don't go on winning streaks. If sharkies get scrubbed which I doubt there is that as well. Who know maybe the doggies won't win without barba

True, forgot we are playing the Panthers too. I'm pretty confident they'll lose 3 anyway.
