Our new halfback should be

Whether he is talking about 10 years or two years or 1 year or whatever is beside the point, he is still staying he wants to extend his deal at the Titans. He is still expressing genuine interest to stay at the Titans which he has done several times by also saying he wants to start a dynasty with Elgey at the club.

I don't think it could be any clearer that he wants to stay there.

Broncos are going to need to come up with an impossible to refuse offer.

I think we have to get Taylor, don't think we have any other better options.

Sounds like Taylor might be lining up to sign an 8 year extension with the Titans.

There will some blokes on here who will need to be put on suicide watch if that happens....

The titans will fold before that time

Not likely. The NRL will be pouring in good money after bad. It's why they can't sort the salary cap out yet - they're still calculating how much they need to keep the Titans alive and therefore how much is left to pay to the rest of the clubs for their rosters.

Dockar Clay is more of a dummy half these days, and I haven't seen enough of him in that position to comment on him.

I'd prefer to give Nikorima a shot before I'd consider ZDC, or even most rookie halves that are off contract.

And Croft is signed until 2020, like Cleary we need to look elsewhere.

In this case, I don't think it matters. We can offer him at worst a comparable offer to the Storm and the guaranteed first shot at an available now position. The Storm have both Jacks and Munster ahead of him at least since Slater has returned, even if Cronk retires.

By next season both Slater & Cronk could be retired and Croft will be ready in a system that he's familiar without having to negotiate a release.

Jacks is merely a stop-gap option at this point and I wouldn't be surprised if Croft receives an opportunity as the season wears on.

Key words highlighted. The Broncos can offer him a certain starting position availability at the most well resourced club in the country. That COULD BE very, very enticing.

Lurker saying we won't get ash Taylor and looking at mitch moses .

Whether they retire or not is irrelevant, he's under contract until the end of the 2019 season and the Storm want him for after Cronk retires, they aren't going to do us a solid and release him when he's more than likely their long-term Halfback.

although everyone seems to expect that the Titans will do just that for Ash Taylor

What happened to the players having all of the power and the clubs don't have any?

Croft is stuck playing ISC while Jacks, who isn't as good as Croft, is playing first grade.

We offer him what Storm are offering, who knows what could happen?
