Now that our season is literally over and Parker has been putting in some bullshit performances lately, we should probably review their roles as captains for this season.

In short, it's been horrible. The team clock off around the 60th minute, they make stupid brain explosion errors, Hodges is injured AGAIN, Thaiday is playing like Lowrie and Parker is looking and playing like he doesn't care. They seem completely incapable of rallying the team in tight spots.

Can we really blame ALL of this on the coach? There is a serious attitude issue that is creeping into our club and it's only going to make Bennett's life harder.

Both have been just as bad as Thaiday was as Captain, Hodges hopefully retires soon which fixes him but outside of Parker/Hodges it's also hard to pick a Captain unless we punt on a young guy and hope he becomes a long term solution.

No quality leaders at the club.

weren't the senior playing group taking some sort of leadership course? can they get a refund?

Yet another post-Lockyer void that the club failed to plan for.

You'd think with Hodges, Parker and Thaiday at the club we'd have leadership. I wouldn't blame the Broncos for not planning for it, instead blame those three guys for not standing up when needed.

hodges tries too hard to do everything himself and parker seems a bit jaded.

I disagree.

The Broncos had it all mapped out post-Lockyer only for Karmichael Hunt to waltz out on them.

The replacements are all good senior players but not captain material.

Valid point, Special K stays and we have him in the 6 right now and likely as Captain with Hodges/Thaiday/Parker in a leadership group.

1. Barba
6.Hunt
7.Hunt

How come?

Just because they are QLD and Australian players doesn't mean they are leaders.

Experience, loyalty to the club, generally the ones digging deep when the players need inspiration. (Even tho Hodges can overdo it)

The issue is each has been tried at Captain so instead of leading with their actions which they've been able to do in the past they are forced to lead with their words as well and well, they suck at that.

Been really disappointed with Parker and Hodges this year, fair enough Parker is an absolute beast in terms of work load and his off-loading, but in terms of actually leading by example, they've done horribly. Stupid errors and penalties from both of them nearly every game.

the problem is i dont see anyone else in the team that could step up.

our spine possbiles (macca/hunt/barba/milford/boyd/hoffman).. no chance any of those guys for obvious reasons for each.

forwards.. mcguire is a good workhorse, not a captain. rest of the forwards well their positions in the team are under question imo.

rest of the backs.. all young blokes really..

Maybe we should just make Glenn captain or something, at least we know he doesn't give away stupid penalties every game. Would take pressure of all of the other senior players, and it would also give Glenn an excuse for staying in the starting line-up, which there is becoming less and less reasons for.

Although, for the record, I'm still rating Glenn higher than Thaiday & Oates at the moment, and Gillett certainly isn't setting the world on fire.

If we're judging our captains on who makes the least errors/penalties then give it to Granville, hes only on the field for 4 minutes a game so less chance of it happening.
