Pathetic Sydney Roosters Crowds

And, they only drew 10K for the Sharks game.

Obviously there are some fantastic supporter bases in Sydney. Dogs, Dragons, Tigers and Rabbitohs are all really starting to take off.

Clubs like the Sharks are holding the game back though.

That was dumb Coxy, please don't do that again. That's a stupid analogy. If a forward made 1 hit up then the next week 2, next week 3 etc, that would STILL be shit, because if you put it in context, you can't soley rely on stats to compare a forward to another forward, however you CAN compare crowds purely on how many people you get through the gates.

Stop while you're behind, fact is that Sydney crowds are booming, League in Sydney is booming, interest in League is booming.

If booming = dying

+1

*sniffs* you can almost smell that it is origin time, Rock is getting all sydney/nsw defensive. Coxy is bagging him for it all over the place. Damn you guys like to argue lol

You just watch when the Western Sydney gAyFL team comes in and averages 35000 a game, along with the Swans averaging around 30000 a game...it'll make the NRL performances of the Sharks, Manly and Wests Tigers look utterly pathetic.

They will only be going to see Folau's masterful kicking game though :)

Overall Broncos have been way more succesfull. Don't deny it. Look at the winning percentages even.
the Lions team that won 3 premierships back to back and then lost the 4th will go down as probably the greatest team of all time. as good as the broncos teams have been, they will not be remembered in the same way.

also rocky, when 9 of the 16 teams are in sydney, of course some of them will be in the top average crowds for the year.

Broncos have been better overall, consistantly.
that doesnt matter. the Lions won 3 premierships in a row, and made 4 grand finals in a row. the broncos didnt. overall, premierships are what makes a team succesfull - and 3 in a row is a very, very, very rare feat that no other team has done in either code for a long time.

Yep. And the Lions' support held firm for several years after those 4 years in a row, despite them falling out of the finals and becoming alsorans prior to Leigh Matthews being booted.

But GUYZ, THE TUNNEL WAS CLOSED!

And as I said, I never really understood that as being a major argument for the poor crowd that night given the Rooster's demographic and the M5 don't really correlate

But it takes so long to get to and from the SFS, and on a Monday night after work, who's going to go? I mean, it's not like many people work in the CBD...

Seriously though Rock, how many fans would have gone to the game via the M5 regardless of whether or not it was closed that night? 10? 20?

i have 1 thing to add to this thread.

Suncorp Stadium Game 2 origin 2010 - sold out in 1 day
ANZ Stadium Game 1 origin 2010 - still tickets on sale, and even with 2 for 1 offers they cant sell tickets

Pretty obvious which crowds are better to me

*awaiting some Sydney apologist coming in telling us how it's not in Sydney's culture to pre-buy tickets, people just walk up on the day of the event and expect tickets*

Don't you know though Queenslander, all us NSW people like to rock up to the game on the night and buy tickets then. That's just how we roll!

That's what Rocky is gonna say.

I bet it's not a sell out.

Oh, great minds think alike and all that.

That's pathetic.

It's an Origin game, how can you not sell out one let alone both?

Sydney really does suck when it comes to turning up to representative games.
