RUMOUR Payne Haas 10yrs

Way too risky. He isn't mature yet off the field and he could have a serious injury or three, way too risky no matter how good he is (and he is very, very good).
I agree with all those points, however, i would rather risk it and pay overs than see him leave the club.
He is the only Bronco i dont want to lose to another club.
I am also not trying to change anyone's opinion on this topic. Just my personal preference would be to pay him the big dollars to keep him around.
He is far more deserving of the big $$$ than others like Fifita/TPJ/Lodge in my opinion.

Not a living soul disagrees with this - the argument is 10m for 10 years is too much.
You can pay Haas his money and lock him down long term, without being that extreme.
The longer the contract the more safety/security for the player and the more risk for the club, so the longer the deal the lower the money.
If you're paying Haas 1m per year I think you have to bring it back to 5 years to limit the risk.
I'd rather something like 800k for 8 years, still risky but balanced.

I stand by my comments.
After every loss, i see one guy putting in the effort every time.
One guy who doesn't slow down, doesn't stop trying his hardest.

Give the man his 10 million.
Lock him down for 10 years.
Give him the captains badge while we are at it.

Obviously im biased as ****, but i dont care.

We're gonna lose him to another club. I just know it.

You have injury etc written into the contract.

Posted about that weeks ago.

He will probably be a bulldog.

Though I doubt the Broncos will release him.

Could be the Bulldogs, could be the Tigers, could be anyone really. His agent is going to be fielding calls from the entire comp with fat pay packets attached, including from the premiership heavyweights.

I am very concerned that it is going to take a monumental effort to keep him here. I would be building our current roster and restructuring our salary cap right now to prepare to offer him over a million a year.

An all too rare bravo to the board on this one.. I ask again, how does a 10-second risk assessment not tell whoever is pushing for this decade deal, to re-sign Haas for another four or five, then meet with his management 18 months or so before that deal expires (just as they're doing right now) to see where both parties are at and where to next ?

Our caps a mess & we are voluntarily agreeing to double a contract that has another 3yrs left to run on it?

I don’t get why we are in such a rush.

He may be underpaid now, but he was overpaid for the first couple years of his deal.
