Probably before he realised a massive chunk of sponsors of both most clubs and the NRL itself derive a substantial income from alcohol and gambling, payday loans etc. Take that away and he'd have to take a massive pay cut without that money in the game.

He's managing what I'm sure is a painful injury. He's a tough unit, that much is for sure.
My view is that this was actually the catalyst. He's not playing his best, he's carrying an injury limiting his time, his impact and yet, we're doing better than we've done since he pulled on the jersey.
