if Parker came out and said it in the same situation I'd want him sent to QCup, as the captain you're ment to be inspire your team mates not make up excuses.

He was the same with Origin during the 8yrs, when NSW lost it was excuse after excuse and he is doing the same with the Sharks. He can't accept blame and it's poor form.

I don't see anything wrong with what he's said. I like when players say the truth and not just the usual PR fluff.

I reckon there is an agenda at play to get Kimmorley into the coaching role for the rest of the season.
As far as going public I don't have a big issue with it, I'm pretty sure this would have been discussed behind closed doors before going to air yesterday and would only have been said as a last resort. I just wish we weren't playing them next

Because he is the captain of the side, his job is to lead the team and inspire them. If they aren't putting in 100% than it's on not just them but the captain who fails to inspire them and the coach who can't motivate them.

Gallen is just pointing the blame when in reality every single person in that organisation is to blame him included.

How do you know he hasn't done that?

How do you know he hasn't spoken to the coach?

How do you know that this wasn't the final straw in getting his club to do something?

If he wants to make it public than it's open for everyone to judge based on the facts infront of them not the facts behinds the scenes and every single person in this thread are basing their opinions on the facts given. And on the facts given Gallen has failed as captain but isn't accepting the blame and instead pushing it aside for someone else to deal with.

Hoffman accepted the blame for his poor form and while it still angered a few fans it was easier to accept because he shouldered the blame and didn't go "Oh I was only playing poor because Hook wouldn't play me in the correct position" or "hook didn't have faith in me so I played poor" he instead accepted it was on him and pledged to try and improve it. (Now come the next season Hook actually isn't playing him correctly at all)

I understand your point. My opinion is that I think it is poor form and it has nothing to do with that the fact it is gallen.

At the day this is a roundabout argument. Some people think its great that he has said, others think it's shit. No one is going to find middle ground so its really a pointless discussion

Maybe read it again. Sounds like the was criticizing the team and the coach, not finding excuses. That's how I read it anyway.

So let me get this straight ..

Hoffman says he wasn't putting in 100%, let's crucify him.

Gallen say he (and his team) aren't putting in 100%, let's find excuses for him and blame the coach...

It's the only gribe he has come out and spoken about, so if there is more he should have said as such. Not just hang the coach out to dry like it's the only issue.

I also understand 100% that it's fair game for others question my stance, that's why I've not once complained about it being question so where you pulled that one from is beyond me.

As for starting arguments for the sake of it, I never thought it was an argument. It appeared to me to be a debate regarding the topic of the thread between two people that don't cave easy.
