I've heard rumours that Sandow is in big trouble at the Eels and it isn't his form that has him playing reserve grade. I won't mention what for here though as it may be false and I don't want to trash him. But the Eels could very well be in the market for a new half.
I think its got him in more trouble than just debt. The NRL integrity unit is investigating him. The thing I won't comment on is what I've been told it is regarding. Quite a serious allegation though. His gambling issues have been widely reported - such as the fact that he's off to a 'retreat' of sorts to get his headspace sorted. That, and despite being paid $550k a year, he's apparently in debt. Gamblor has a good hold of this one!
Wallace and Norman led us to the finals last year. We also started the season 8 -2 or something ridiculous like that.

As for his gambling rumour, people who are rumoured to be my friends have allegedly been to a casino (rumour has it, it was Star Casino) with [a guy who may or may not be not be] Chris and claim to have seen [what appears to be] him go through [an alleged] ~$30k in one night ('one night' doesn't necessarily refer to a 12 hour time period).
If that last comment breaches board rules, my apologies to the mods and please go ahead and edit it out.
Including the [alleged/rumoured] 40/20 fixing shenanigans.
Did we cover it @Splinter or is there more? I hate twitter, it makes my eyes bleed as an interactive and visual design teacher.
Penrith are refusing to give up hope of securing Peter Wallace, with Panthers management tabling a $1.5 million deal in a bid to bring the Broncos halfback home.
And a second Bronco may yet end up at the Panthers, with general manager of football Phil Gould currently in talks with out-of-favour Brisbane hooker Kurt Baptiste.
Broncos coach Anthony Griffin is hopeful Wallace will honour his existing deal, which expires at the end of 2014, after the former NSW halfback assured Griffin on Monday he did not want a release.
But Wallace's commitment is being tested. Penrith are determined to get their man and News Limited understands the club has discussed a three-year contract worth an estimated $500,000 a season that would make Wallace a Panther until the end of 2016.
Wallace is aware of Penrith's big-money pursuit and has told Broncos teammates of the Panthers' interest.
The Broncos are unlikely to engage in a bidding war for Wallace, who currently earns about $350,000 annually. Broncos hierarchy are also reluctant to force the 27-year-old, who has played 126 games for the club, to stay if he considers Penrith's offer too good to refuse.
A factor will be whether the Broncos can secure a replacement for next season. Manly sensation Daly Cherry-Evans, whose father Troy knows Griffin well, has been linked to Brisbane amid claims the Sea Eagles are not delivering on a third-party deal, but the Broncos insist they have not held talks.
Wallace's manager Allan Gainey declined to comment yesterday.
Baptiste, 22, has played just five games in the past two seasons at Brisbane.
His manager Simon Mammino met with Gould last week amid interest from Manly.
"A couple of clubs are interested in Kurt, but nothing is nailed down yet," Mammino said.
"Kurt is on the lookout for opportunities, we are working through the process and Brisbane are still working out what to do with their roster.
"We are looking around with their blessing and we will see what comes of it.
"We are a fair way down the road with one club and hopefully we will make a decision in the next month.
"At this stage it is most likely Kurt will be at another club next season.
"Ideally, he would stay at the Broncos, he's a Brisbane boy, but they have a good hooker in Andrew McCullough and a high opinion of Jake Granville, so we need to have a look around."
