I feel like Arrow may be the one to miss out unfortunately. We will probably take 18 and I think almost all of those guys picked themselves. What's everyone else's thoughts?

Nice idea @Kyall, thought it deserved it's own thread.

I expect Wayne to take over a full-strength side, so the only question marks would be on Thaiday, McGuire and Marshall. Personally, I'd use it to experiment a little with our depth and give guys like Pearson, Moga, Ofahengaue, Arrow, Su'A, Pangai Jr, Sims and Ese'ese more game-time. I'd also bring Murphy and Cronin over just in case I wanted a utility there for the game.

Well I'm not sure but might not be a bad idea given he gets injured easily and give Mead and Pearson an opportunity to shoot out for the other wing spot. Might be an idea to do the same with Kahu and let Moga/Steve/Isaako a chance.

Agree 100% with you. I don't think arrow did much wrong last night but the other guys (offa, Herman, tpg and sims) were just a little stronger and they have a bit more size over arrow and with McGuire looking to have the lock sown up arrow probably misses out until origin.

I can't see Wayne taking to many risks with the team given it's our first and last real team hitout before round one I'd imagine he will play the team he wants for round one. The big questions are if sims get the starting spot or doesn't joe or Herman get it and sims on the bench? I'd probably go Offa to start and sims, tpj, Glenn and a utility on the bench. And I'd expect tpj, Herman, arrow and MAYBE sua/offa to be rotated between bench spots and q cup throughout the year.

I am concerned about our defence through the middle if McGuire is our lock. I would leave him at prop, Arrow at lock, Sims off the bench

Lock generally defends in the middle as it is so I don't think there would be that much difference between him playing there or front row? Just gives him a bit more of a licence to move around in attack and probably more minutes. I don't mind Blair Macca and offa in the middle defensivelyweith McGuire at lock.
In saying that I wouldn't be disappointed seeing arrow at lock as he does look like a real work horse. Seems as though Wayne is leaning towards McGuire though.

My problem with Macca and McGuire playing most likely 80 minutes is only one is a very good defender. Play Arrow with Macca and it gives you two good defenders out in the middle for most of the match.

I'm not sold on Moose at lock either to be honest... not sure about Arrow either. I'd prefer to see Gillett there, although he is half our right side defense by himself.
