Player Movements and Rumours 2012

 I realise that's not the easiest read... I'll simplify it.

2013 example scenario. Salary cap 4M, 800k spare.

We pay Hodges, McCullough, Glenn their 2013 and 2014 salaries in the one year and then in 2014/2015 they get half their salaries over that two year period.

This will result in us utilising the full 4 million and then in 2014 we're 800k up on salary paying so we essentially have 4.8 million in 2014, an 800k advantage over other clubs who didn't have spare cap space.

Interesting rumour going around that Petero could be playing for Redcliffe in 2013.

Yeah that is the way around it but you can't just save 800k from one year and then add it to next year, you are essentially still using your full cap each year just back ending some contracts and bringing others forward.

Yeah but by front loading contracts in a year where you weren't going to use the space anyway you essentially get the equivalent of the free space you had in that year as added cap space for the year after.

E.g. You get someone like Thurston and in his first year you offer him 1 mill then 600k in the succeeding years. Gives you a big advantage over others if you play it that way.

If Scott Prince heads off to Hull What are the chances of Ben Hunt seeking a release to ink with the Titans?

I'd say pretty likely as its only a drift down the highway for a starting spot.

I hope we keep him as cover for norman

I'd love to see Norman given a real crack at being halfback with Wallace at five-eighth, but it's just not going to happen. So if he gets a go at the Titans I wish him well and hope he gets to show his quality.

Lol, I think you've mixed up some names there matey!

I would say if prince leaves it is certain hunt will be at the titans, wouldn't surprise me if its already a done deal. We have seen hunt play his last game in a broncos jersey
